PEACHY GREEN TEA COOLER

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 green tea teabags
6 cups cold water
3 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
Honey
1 lemon, juiced
A couple of sprigs fresh mint or basil

Steps:

  • Bring 6 cups cold water to a boil.
  • Place teabags and sliced peaches in a saucepan. Pour boiling water over the peaches and teabags. Steep for about 5 minutes.
  • Strain the tea into a heat-safe pitcher and reserve the peaches in another container to place in the refrigerator. Stir in honey and lemon juice to taste into the tea.
  • Allow tea to cool, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  • To serve: Fill tall glasses with ice, place a few chilled peach slices in each glass, pour chilled tea over the peaches and top with a sprig of mint or basil.

2 lemons , juice only
2 limes , juice only
1 lemon , thinly sliced
1 lime , thinly sliced
peach nectar
cloudy lemonade
a few sliced strawberry
sparkling water
mint sprigs

Steps:

  • Put the lemon juice and lime juice into a large jug. Add the sliced lemon and lime, and a handful of ice cubes. Add peach nectar to fill about one-third of the jug and top up to fill with lemonade.
  • Add the strawberries and top up with sparkling water and mint sprigs.

2 ounces Green Tea Vodka, recipe follows
1/2-ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1-ounce orange liqueur (recommended: Cointreau)
1/4-ounce golden rum
2 to 3 teaspoons Simple Syrup, recipe follows
Flowery Ice Cubes, for garnish (optional)
1 cup vodka
2 gunpowder green tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose gunpowder green tea
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Edible flowers
Water

Steps:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Green Tea Vodka, lemon juice, orange liqueur, and Simple Syrup. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.) Strain into a tall glass filled with Flowery Ice Cubes, if using.
  • Place both tea bags into the vodka. Cover, shake, and let steep for 2 hours. Remove and discard the tea bags.
  • Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
  • Drop 1 edible flower into each segment of an ice-cube tray; fill with water and freeze.
