Raise the stakes by seasoning a thick cut sirloin steak with sweet & spicy steak rub. The pure, clean Jacobsen Salt Co. sea salt combined with the spicy paprika, chili powder, & brown sugar will make meat memorable.

sirloin steak
garlic powder
onion powder
paprika
chile powder
Brown sugar
fine sea salt
Ground black pepper

Steps:

  • When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 500°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chile powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  • Rub the steaks on both sides with the spice mixture.
  • Insert the probe horizontally into the center of a steak, avoiding the bone. Place the steaks directly on the grill grates at the outer edges of the grill (typically the hottest part of the grill). Close the lid and cook until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare, 3-4 minutes, or your desired temperature. Flip and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

4 1 1/4-to-1 1/2-inch-thick boneless rib-eye or New York strip steaks (about 12 ounces each) or filets mignons (8 to 10 ounces each), trimmed
2 tablespoons canola or extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • About 20 minutes before grilling, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let sit, covered, at room temperature.
  • Heat your grill to high. Brush the steaks on both sides with oil and season liberally with salt and pepper. Place the steaks on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4 to 5 minutes. Turn the steaks over and continue to grill 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (an internal temperature of 135 degrees F), 5 to 7 minutes for medium (140 degrees F) or 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (150 degrees F).
  • Transfer the steaks to a cutting board or platter, tent loosely with foil and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

1 (12 oz) boneless sirloin steak
0.5 tsp. of sodium-free meat tenderizer
2 tsp. of Grill Mates Montreal steak seasoning

Steps:

  • 1. Season both sides of steak with tenderizer and steak seasoning. Let steak rest for 15 minutes.
  • 2. Preheat grill to medium heat.
  • 3. Grill directly over heat for 5 minutes. Turn steak and grill an additional 5 minutes or until desired doneness is reached.
  • 4. Remove steak from grill and place on cutting board or serving platter. Loosely place a piece of aluminum foil over steak. Rest for 5 minutes.
