This is a great recipe for people who would like to try something different for Thanksgiving. It makes a delicious side to any kind of turkey dish, and is very simple to make.

2 pounds ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
⅓ cup ketchup
1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (175 degrees C).
  • Mix together the hamburger, bread crumbs, eggs, soy sauce, pepper, garlic powder and ketchup. Form into small balls and bake for 30 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine the cranberry sauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice. Simmer and stir until smooth. Add meat balls and simmer for I hour. Serve warm.

1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup minced fresh parsley
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup crushed saltine crackers
2 lbs lean ground beef
1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
1 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup picante sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • MEATBALLS: Combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add crackers and mix; crumble beef over mixture and combine well.
  • Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls and brown in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat.
  • Transfer to a greased 9 x 13 inch oven proof dish.
  • SAUCE: Combine ingredients in a saucepan.
  • Cook and stir until cranberry sauce is melted& mixture is heated through.
  • Pour over meatballs.
  • Cover and bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30- 35 minutes or until meat is no longer pink inside.
  • Serve as an appetizer or over noodles/rice.

1/3 cup ketchup

1 cup crushed saltines (about 30 crackers)
2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
SAUCE:
1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
1 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup picante sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Hot cooked noodles, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the eggs, ketchup, parsley, soy sauce, onion, garlic powder and pepper. Add cracker crumbs. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. , In a skillet, brown meatballs over medium heat. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. , In a large saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, picante sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice. Cook and stir until cranberry sauce is melted and mixture is heated through. Pour over meatballs. , Cover and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Great for cocktail parties, casual get-togethers or anytime, these baked meatballs are especially easy to make . . . and the glaze is so good, it makes them hard to resist.

1 pound lean ground beef
¼ cup plain dry bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (16 ounce) jar Pace® Picante Sauce
⅓ cup grape jelly
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Thoroughly mix the beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic and 1/4 cup picante sauce in a large bowl. Shape the mixture firmly into 40 (1-inch) meatballs. Place the meatballs onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through, turning them over once halfway through the bake time.
  • Heat the remaining picante sauce and jelly in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes or until the mixture is reduced to 1 cup. Stir in the thyme, if desired. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until the meatballs are hot, stirring occasionally. Serve the meatballs on toothpicks.

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine first six ingredients. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. Place meatballs on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. , Meanwhile, combine cranberry sauce and tomato soup. Heat through. Add meatballs and simmer 10 minutes. Serve with rice or noodles. May also be used as an appetizer.
