SWEET PINK POPCORN



Sweet Pink Popcorn image

This is sweet buttered popcorn with red food color added. Great for a girls birthday party or for Breast Cancer Awarness events.

Yield 8-10 cups

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup water
red food coloring
2 cups unpopped popcorn

Steps:

  • Pop corn in an air popper.
  • Boil the sugar, butter, water and food coloring for 3 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Slowly poor the sugar mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
  • Let dry on a cookie sheet. To speed this process dry in a 200 degree oven for 10 minutes, watching carefully.

One 3.2-ounce bag microwave kettle corn
1 1/2 teaspoons pink lemonade drink powder

Steps:

  • Prepare the kettle corn according to package instructions.
  • Remove the bag from the microwave and carefully open. While the popcorn is still warm, pour in the pink lemonade drink powder. Hold the bag closed with your hand and shake vigorously until combined.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

I used to make this in college while watching scary movies. You can use any flavor jello. Strawberry is the best. I have also given as a gift for those friends who love popcorn.

3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
4 tablespoons strawberry gelatin
2 quarts popped popcorn

Steps:

  • Pop 2 qts plain popcorn and set aside. In a pan melt butter. stir in marshmallows until softened, but not completely melted. Add Jello then stir until mixture is evenly colored. ( Jello does not have to desolve) drizzle over popcorn and mix.
