1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon aniseed
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
6 hamburger buns, split
6 lettuce leaves
6 tomato slices

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture; mix well. Shape into six patties. Place on broiler pan coated with cooking spray. , Broil 6 in. from heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until juices run clear. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato.

1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian sausage (a little more is fine!)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
12 slices provolone
16 slices pepperoni
Thinly sliced red onion, for topping
1 green bell pepper, sliced thick
Sliced black olives, for topping
8 tablespoons jarred marinara sauce, plus a little more
4 kaiser rolls or good hamburger buns (kaiser rolls from the bakery section)
Butter, for toasting
Grated Parmesan (store bought)

Steps:

  • Combine the ground beef, Italian sausage and Italian seasoning in a bowl. Knead the mixture together and form it into four large/thick patties.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the burgers on one side for several minutes, then turn the burgers. Lay 2 slices of provolone on each patty, followed by 4 slices of pepperoni. Add a couple of thin slices of red onion, a slice of green bell pepper and a pile of black olives. Spoon a little marinara sauce on top, then lay another slice of cheese on top of all the fillings.
  • Place the lid on the skillet and allow the burgers to cook all the way through while the cheese melts and the pepperoni warms.
  • Split the rolls and toast them in butter in a skillet until nice and golden and crisp. Spread both halves with more marinara sauce and sprinkle the sauce with Parmesan.
  • Lay the patties on the bottom buns, then top with the top buns. Serve immediately; hearty appetites are recommended!

1 whole medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon canola or vegetable oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (10-ounce) can tomato soup
1/4 cups water
1 tablespoon pizza or Italian seasoning
3 tablespoons butter
4 whole english muffins, split in half
1 tablespoon garlic salt
32 slices pepperoni
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, add a little canola or vegetable oil and the onions on medium heat. Heat through. Add the ground beef and cook the beef until done. Once the beef is cooked add the tomato soup, water and pizza seasoning. Reduce the heat to low and simmer. While the beef and sauce are simmering, preheat the oven on broil and spread the butter evenly on each English muffin half. Sprinkle with garlic salt and top each muffin half with 4 slices of pepperoni. Pop the muffins under the broiler on a cookie sheet for about 2 minutes or until they just begin to brown on the edges. Take them out of the oven and top each English muffin with 1/4 cup of the meat and sauce mixture. Top each of those with the cheese. Place back under the broiler for another 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown and starts to bubble. Enjoy!

6 ounces luncheon meat, grated (Spam)
2 cups spaghetti sauce (use Ragu)
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (about 1/2 pound) or 2 cups American cheese (about 1/2 pound)
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

12 plain hamburger buns
1 cup grated cheese, for topping burgers before baking (I like using a combination of American and Mozzarella cheese)

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger; drain fat. Add grated luncheon meat; saute 1-2 minutes. Stir in rest of ingredients till combined and the cheese has completely melted. Place all hamburger bun halves onto cookie sheets. Add desired amount of sauce onto each bun and sprinkle with the grated American and mozzarella cheeses.   • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

6 burger buns, split, toasted
6 leaves lettuce

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. In large bowl, mix ground beef and salt. Shape mixture into 12 thin patties, each about 4 inches in diameter.
  • In small bowl, mix pepperoni, olives and 1/3 cup of the pizza sauce. Spoon rounded tablespoon pepperoni mixture onto center of 6 patties; spread slightly. Top with remaining patties; press edges together firmly to seal.
  • Place patties on grill; cover grill. Cook with medium heat 8 to 12 minutes, turning once, until thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F (avoid inserting in filling). Easy recipe for feeding a crowd. Meat mixture can be prepared ahead and refrigerated til party time. The first time I made it was 35 years ago for a Halloween party and the teenagers loved them. I have never seen a pizza burger recipe like this so I am sharing this for you busy moms & dads.

1 lb hamburger
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger.
  • Drain.
  • Place in bowl and add spices.
  • Cool in fridge til cold.
  • Remove from fridge and knead in the cold pizza cheeze adding tomatoe paste til it holds its shape.
  • The mixture should be firm. Refrigerate until ready to make up.
  • For pizzas, spread hamburger bun halves on cookie sheets and using an ice cream scoop top the buns with the pizza mixture.
  • I spread the mixture with a spatula to the edge of the bun. The mixture should be about 1 to 2" thick; your preference.
  • I have doubled and tripled the recipe for partys. We like a 2" mound of meat and cheeze on ours. If you follow the recipe using tomatoe PASTE the pizzas will rise and puff up, brown nicely, but not spill out over the bun; they really hold their shape and present well.
  • Bake at 350 til cheese browns; about 10 minutes.

Steps:

  • Combine 1/2 cup pizza sauce, bread crumbs, oregano, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Crumble beef and sausage over mixture and mix well. Shape into six patties., Cook patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Top with remaining pizza sauce and cheese. Cover and cook 2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on rolls.

1 lb extra lean ground beef (95%, do not fry in advance)
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/2 pint pizza sauce (I use Homemade Canned Pizza Sauce or 7 ounces Ragu Pizza Quick Sauce)
8 hamburger buns, plain inexpensive white buns work the best
16 slices mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together all ingredients from ground beef through pizza sauce.
  • Separate the halves of the hamburger buns, placing each half face-up on a baking sheet.
  • Spread the meat mixture on each of the hamburger bun halves. (I have found the fastest way to do this is using Pampered Chef's medium scoop and dividing the meat mixture between the bun halves; then, using the back of a large soup spoon, smooth the meat mixture evenly over the bun.).
  • Top each with a slice of mozzarella.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

4 sesame hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Mix meat and Parmesan just until blended; shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
  • Cook in skillet on medium heat 4 to 5 min. on each side or until done (160°F). About 3 min. before burgers are done, cook pizza sauce in saucepan until heated through, stirring frequently.
  • Place burgers on bottom halves of buns; top with mozzarella and pizza sauce. Cover with tops of buns.

3 stalks celery, minced
4 pounds ground beef
1 (32 ounce) bottle ketchup
½ (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
½ (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 ½ (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 ½ tablespoons dried oregano
1 ½ tablespoons white sugar
¼ cup butter, softened
36 English muffins, split
72 slices American cheese, cut into strips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place onion and celery into a pot and cover with water; bring to a boil. Simmer until tender, about 3 minutes. Drain.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat; cook and stir beef until it is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease. Stir in onion mixture, ketchup, tomato soup, 1/2 can tomato paste, garlic salt, salt, and pepper; set aside to cool.
  • Mix remaining 1 1/2 cans tomato paste, oregano, and sugar in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Butter each English muffin half, then spread with tomato paste mixture. Divide ground beef mixture over each muffin half and top with strips of American cheese. Place open-faced sandwiches on large baking sheets.

1 (14 ounce) jar pizza sauce
1 tablespoon dried oregano
8 hamburger buns, split, or as desired

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Let ground beef cool until easily handled.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Process ham and American cheese in a food processor until finely chopped. Mix ground beef, ham and American cheese, pizza sauce, and oregano together in a large bowl.
