- Pour salt onto a plate or shallow dish. With a lime wedge rub along the rim of a glass and dip glasses upside down to salt the rim. Fill glasses with ice. In a cocktail shaker with ice place the tequila, triple sec, pomegranate juice, and lime juice. Pour into the salt-rimmed glasses and top off with club soda. Garnish with a lime wedge, if desired.

I ordered this martini at a chain restaurant which we don't have in our area when I was visiting family out of town. I tried one, and fell in love with it. So I wrote down the ingredients and starting playing around with the measurements. I found the perfect amount and it tastes even better than the one at the restaurant! I have used Sugar Free Cranberry Juice with this and it has turned out great!

Simple and straight to the point. Update 11/12/13 for Cooking Tag Mania Special - I finally tried this myself and it is delicious! I sometime find martini type drinks too strong but this is nicely balanced. I was lazy and just used about a 1/2 -1 tsp sugar because I didn't have simple syrup on hand. The smaller amount makes for a fairly tart drink which I enjoy. I also tried it with a little lime juice which I also liked. I also made one with half 100 % cranberry and half 100 % pomegranate juice, this is a little less earthy tasting then all pomegranate. The most important thing is shaking it until it's nice and cold.

This is something we came up with after trying to find a drink that used pomegranate juice. We used pomegranate juice that was flavored with cherries. The measurements we used were with a 1.5 ounce shot glass - 1.5 ounces is equivalent to 3 Tablespoons. The sugar on the rim gives it a pleasant sweetness that smooths the martini. Based on a martini recipe from an Iraqi restaurant.Enjoy!
