1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup red wine
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package onion soup mix (Lipton)
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 lbs stew meat
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
8 ounces baby carrots

Steps:

  • Mix sauce in slow cooker.
  • Add meat, carrots and mushrooms.
  • Stir to coat meat with sauce.
  • Cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 8 hours.

6 cups vegetable oil for frying
1 egg
¼ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup white sugar
⅔ cup milk

Steps:

  • Heat oil to 365 degrees in a deep fryer or heavy saucepan.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the egg, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon oil until light. combine the flour, baking powder and salt, stir in alternately with the milk until well blended.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls into the hot oil and fry on both sides until golden. Drain on paper towels and roll in 1/2 cup white sugar while still warm.

1 onion (chopped)
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup catsup
1 lb sirloin, cut into cubes or cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute onions in butter, when onions are tender add meat and cook until browned.
  • Mix in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar and catsup.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve over rice.
