You can tell from the simmering ingredients list just how great this slow-cooker pulled pork will be. Serve with sweet potato steak fries for the win.

1 boneless pork shoulder (2 lb.)
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup HEINZ 57 Sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tbsp. HEINZ Yellow Mustard
1 pkg. (19 oz.) ORE-IDA Sweet Potato Steak Fries
8 sandwich buns, split

Steps:

  • Place meat in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray. Combine all remaining ingredients except fries and buns; pour over meat. Turn to evenly coat meat. Cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours). About 15 min. before meat is done, bake fries as directed on package.
  • Remove meat from slow cooker; trim and discard excess fat. Chop or shred meat; return to slow cooker. Stir to evenly coat meat with sauce.
  • Fill buns with meat mixture. Serve with fries.

Here's what you need: medium russet potatoes, pork shoulder, olive oil, salt, pepper, BBQ sauce, red onion, shredded pepper jack cheese, scallion, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream

8 medium russet potatoes
2 lb pork shoulder
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
2 cups BBQ sauce
½ red onion, sliced
1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
½ cup scallion, sliced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Slice the potatoes into ½-inch (1cm) slices, then cut the slices into ½-inch (1cm) strips.
  • Place the sliced potatoes on a baking sheet along with the pork shoulder. Make sure that the potatoes are not touching the pork.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the potatoes, then sprinkle the pork and the potatoes with the salt and pepper, rubbing them in so that they are all coated evenly. Cover the pork with one cup (286g) of the barbecue sauce, then rub it evenly on all sides. Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the fries, then place the pork in the center of the tray. Bake for another two hours at 350°F (175°C)
  • Transfer the pork to a large bowl, and using two forks, shred the pork. Combine the pulled pork with the remaining one cup (286g) of barbecue sauce.
  • In a skillet or a baking tray, layer half of the fries, half of the bbq pork, half of the red onion, the pepper jack, half of the scallions, then repeat with the remaining fries, pork, red onion, cheddar, and scallions. Bake for 15 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  • Serve with sour cream.
  • Enjoy!

½ yellow onion, sliced
1 pork loin, cut into 2-inch (5-cm) thick rounds
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups BBQ sauce, plus more for drizzling
3 sweet potatoes
olive oil, to taste
1 cup shredded carrots
½ purple cabbage
green onion, for garnish

Steps:

  • Layer bottom of crock pot with onion and lay pork loin on top. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Top with BBQ sauce.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
  • "Pull apart" the pork loin using two forks. Cover and let sit and move on to sweet potatoes.
  • Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
  • Using a fork, poke holes down one side of each sweet potato. Microwave for 3-5 minutes, or until softened. Let sweet potatoes cool before handling.
  • Next, cut sweet potatoes in half and carve out the centers with a spoon, leaving a rim around the outside of each sweet potato.
  • Place sweet potatoes on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Add shredded carrots and purple cabbage to the shredded pork and combine.
  • Fill sweet potatoes with pork, drizzle with BBQ sauce, and garnish with green onion.
  • Enjoy!

4 sweet potatoes, or more to taste
1 teaspoon kosher salt
⅓ cup olive oil
1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Cut each sweet potato in half crosswise. Quarter each half lengthwise. Cut each quarter evenly into 2 to 4 pieces. Repeat with remaining sweet potatoes.
  • Place sweet potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet. Add salt. Drizzle olive oil on top. Stir up potatoes to coat with oil; spread out evenly on the baking sheet. Season with pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 10 minutes, until browned, 20 to 30 minutes.

2021-02-05 Add some olive oil to a cast-iron skillet and cook the sweet potato, stirring frequently. While the sweet potatoes are cooking, heat up the pulled pork according to the directions. When the sweet potatoes are cooked to the desired crispiness, layer the pulled pork on top. Layer the cheese curds on top of the pork. Smother with the gravy.
