- Muddle the strawberries, vodka, blood orange juice, agave and mint in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass. Add a splash of ginger beer and garnish with the blood orange slice.

This is dead simple to make, and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it came out. The candy's spicy cinnamon flavor and sweetness really mellows the burn of drinking straight 80-proof booze.

- Pour red hot candies into a resealable plastic bag. Crush candies with a mallet or rolling pin. Transfer crushed candies to a food processor and pulse until candies form a fine powder.n
- Stir candy powder and vodka together in a bowl. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let rest until powder is dissolved, at least 2 hours.n
- Pour vodka mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl and discard any candy pieces that did not dissolve. Pour vodka into a bottle and seal.n
