- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, creamy salad dressing, and water in a large bowl. Pour into the greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

People are put off by the idea of "salad dressing" or Miracle Whip in a cake, but it is so moist and delicious! I tend to make this in two 9" round pans.

- Stir sugar and cocoa together.
- Add salad dressing and mix well.
- Dissolve soda in warm water.
- Alternate water (with soda) with flour into cream mixture.
- Mix well.
- Add vanilla.
- Bake 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

- Boil 4 T flour and 1 C milk to thin paste. Cool to lukewarm.

I like to frost this cake with the following homemade Peanut Butter Frosting: Cream ¼ cup butter or margarine together with ¼ cup peanut butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add 2½ cups sifted confectioners' sugar, alternately with 3 tablespoons milk and beat until light, fluffy and spreadable.
