Sausage Cheese Balls image

These bite-sized meatballs are a favorite of mine. Feel free to swap in different cheese for the cheddar or to serve the balls with Dijon mustard instead of the barbecue and sweet-and-sour sauces.

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons biscuit/baking mix
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon finely chopped celery
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 pound bulk pork sausage
Optional: Sweet-and-sour and barbecue sauces

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Crumble sausage over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls. , Place in a shallow baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 12-15 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain on paper towels. Serve with sauces if desired.

1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 ¼ cups baking mix (such as Bisquick ®)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Blend sausage, baking mix, cream cheese, and Cheddar cheese together using the dough hook attachment of an electric stand mixer on very low speed until well combined, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a rimmed baking stone.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until browned and no longer pink in the centers, 22 to 25 minutes.

2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix the sausage, cheese, and rosemary; mix well using your hands or a spoon.
  • Unroll the crescent dough on a work surface; coat each side of the dough with 1 tablespoon flour. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into about ¼-inch pieces. Mix the crescent dough pieces into the bowl of sausage mixture in small amounts until well blended.
  • Shape the mixture into 42 1¼-inch balls. Place in the pan. Bake until golden brown, 15 to 17 minutes.

  • 2. Separate rolls into triangles.
  • 3. Cut eat triangle in half lengthwise.
  • 4. Scoop a heaping tablespoon onto each roll.
