Impossibly Easy Ham and Swiss Pie image

It's restaurant-style quiche at home! This easy ham and Swiss cheese pie is sure to be a family-pleasing entrée.

1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked smoked boneless ham
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 ounces)
1/4 cup chopped green onions or chopped onion
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt, if desired
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1 tomato, sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut into rings

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle ham, cheese and onions in pie plate.
  • Stir Bisquick mix, milk, salt, pepper and eggs until blended. Pour into pie plate.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Garnish with tomato and bell pepper.

1 pound bacon
1 ½ cups diced cooked ham
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 onion, chopped
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup baking mix
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook until crisp and evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
  • Mix the bacon, ham, Swiss cheese, Cheddar cheese, and onion in the baking dish. In a bowl, mix the eggs, baking mix, salt, and pepper. Pour over the ingredients in the baking dish.
  • Bake 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center of the casserole comes out clean.

1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup uncooked quick-cooking corn grits
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz)
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
8 eggs
2 cups chopped extra-lean deli ham
6 green onions, chopped
2 cups milk
3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In medium saucepan, heat water, whipping cream, butter, salt and pepper to boiling. Gradually stir in grits; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 cup of the cheese and the garlic, stirring until cheese is melted. Cool 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in 2 of the eggs; pour into baking dish. Bake 20 minutes; remove from oven. Increase oven temperature to 400°F.
  • Sprinkle remaining 1 1/2 cups cheese, the ham and onions over partially baked crust. In medium bowl, beat remaining 6 eggs and 1/2 cup of the milk with whisk; pour over ham mixture. Stir together remaining 1 1/2 cups milk and the Bisquick mix. Pour over egg mixture, spreading to edge of dish with back of spoon. Bake 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; cut into squares.

1 1/4 cups shredded swiss cheese, divided
8 large eggs, divided
1/2 lb cooked ham, diced
4 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup milk
chives

Steps:

  • Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan; gradually whisk in grits.
  • Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, whisking occasionally, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Add 1/2 cup cheese, stirring until cheese melts.
  • Remove from heat, and let stand 10 minutes. Lightly beat 2 eggs, and stir into grits mixture; pour into a lightly greased 10-inch-deep pie plate.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes; remove from oven.
  • To freeze: Prepare and bake as directed. Allow to cool. Wrap well in plastic wrap and then foil. Freeze.
  • To serve: Thaw in fridge and reheat in oven.
  • Increase oven temperature to 400°.
  • Sauté ham and onions in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until onion is tender.
  • Layer ham mixture evenly over grits crust.
  • Whisk together milk and remaining 6 eggs; pour over ham mixture.
  • Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup cheese evenly over egg mixture.
  • Bake at 400° for 35 minutes.
  • Let stand 10 minutes, and cut into wedges.
  • Garnish, if desired.
