CRISPY BENNE SEED SHRIMP WITH SWEET MUSTARD AND HOT CHILE GARLIC SAUCES
Steps:
- Preheat the frying oil to 360 degrees F.
- Place shrimp on paper towels and refrigerate. They must be free of moisture to hold the batter.
- Mix together ingredients for the Mustard Sauce and set aside.
- Mix together ingredients for the Hot Chile Garlic Sauce and set aside.
- For the batter: In a large stainless or glass mixing bowl, mix the cornstarch and flour together. Add the soda water gradually, until a forms smooth thick batter the consistency of pancake batter. Add seeds and herbs. Keep the batter cold and use immediately.
- Grab the shrimp 3 or 4 at a time by the tail and dip into the batter. Shake off excess and place in the hot oil. While the shrimp are frying, lay out the plates and drizzle the 2 sauces around using a coffee spoon. Remove the shrimp from the hot oil and place on absorbent paper. Season with sea salt.
- Stack the shrimp, 5 on a plate and garnish with the scallions and fried cilantro leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy!
- Note: Always get more shrimp as you can easily eat more that 5 of these!

Steps:
- Combine shrimp, salad dressing, salt and garlic powder in Medium or Large Ziploc® Brand Zip 'n Steam™ bag.
- Seal bag and shake to mix ingredients.
- Pat ingredients into an even, single layer. Place bag in microwave.
- Cook on full power 2 - 3 minutes, until shrimp are pink and cooked throughout (cooking times may vary depending on size of shrimp). If needed, continue microwaving for 30-second intervals until done.
- Allow bag to stand 1 minute before opening.
- Salt to taste. Serve with dipping sauce and garnish with lemon wedges.
- For Dipping sauce, combine all of ingredints in a bowl and serve with shrimp.
SESAME SHRIMP WITH WASABI SAUCE
One of the starring appetizers in Canadian Living's cookbook The Complete Christmas Book. Prep time may take a bit longer depending on ease of peeling the shrimp. If wasabi paste isn't available, and powdered wasabi is, mix 4 tsp powder with 2 tsp water to form a paste.

- Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Sauce:.
- Stir 1 tbsp mayonnaise with wasabi until smooth. Stir in remainder of mayo, 1 tbsp at a time.
- Stir in lime juice, chives and sesame oil. Set aside.
- In a shallow dish, stir together sesame seeds, bread crumbs and salt. Set aside.
- In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
- Add shrimp and mix until they are fully coated.
- Press each shrimp into sesame seed mixture to coat and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Broil 4-5 inches from heat, about 2 minutes per side. Shrimp should turn pink and the coating turn golden.
- Serve with dipping sauce.
