- 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees 2. Grease 13 x 9 baking pan 3. Prepare brownie mix batter according to package directions. 4. Spread batter into prepared baking pan 5. Sprinkle with 1 cup morsels. 6. Bake according to package baking times for 13 x 9 pan size. 7. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. 8. Spread frosting over brownies. 9. Sprinkle with remaining morsels and coconut, if desired. 10. Cut into bars. Store in cool place
CHRISTMAS BROWNIES
Move over sugar cookies, the traditional brownie is here to show off with sweet frosting and candy decorations just in time for the Christmas season! I used the Best Brownies recipe and 1/2 of the Special Buttercream Frosting recipe on this site. I do not suggest using different recipes.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile cream shortening for frosting until fluffy. Gradually add confectioner's sugar and continue beating until creamy and well blended. Add 3 ounces cream, vanilla, and salt and blend on low speed until moistened. Add up to 1 more ounce cream if necessary. Beat on high speed until frosting is fluffy.
- Transfer 1/2 of the frosting into another bowl and mix in green gel food coloring to get your preferred shade of green.
- Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out 8 Christmas trees from the pan of cooled brownies.
- Pipe green and white frostings onto cooled brownies to look like snow-covered trees. Decorate with candies.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Beat butter, sugar, fanilla extract and salt in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in morsels and nuts. Shape level tablespoons of dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned. Remove from oven. Sift powdered sugar over hot cookies on baking sheets. Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar, if desired. Store in airtight containers.

- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; add to sugar mixture until well blended. Stir in vanilla chips and nuts. , Spread into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack. Cut into diamond shapes if desired.

I adopted this one from the RecipeZaar account. I have not had a chance to make this. **I am sure that you could easily substitute regular chocolate chips for the morsels. I don't think I can find morsels here so I will use normal chocolate chips when I make these... hopefully that will be soon!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
- Microwave butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power 1 minute; stir until melted.
- Stir in sugar and water. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup Shapes & Morsels. Spread into prepared baking pan.
- Bake 18 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Spread with whipped topping. Sprinkle with remaining Shapes & Morsels.
- Refrigerate until serving time. Cut into bars.
