SOUTHWESTERN DIP MIX

Steps:

• Combine first eight ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Yield: 12 batches (1-1/2 cups total)., To prepare one batch of dip: Add 2 tablespoons of mix to mayonnaise and sour cream; stir until blended. Serve with chips or vegetables.

V'S SOUTHWESTERN DIP

Steps:

• Mix sour cream and mayonaise together in a bowl.
• Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
• Add dry spices to sour cream and mayonaise mixture Refrigerate for 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.

SOUTHWESTERN STAR DIP

Steps:

• In a bowl, combine cheese, mayonnaise, 1/3 cup olives, chilies, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce. Transfer to an ungreased 9-in. pie plate. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Sprinkle tomato on top in the shape of a star; outline with remaining olives. Sprinkle onions around the star. Serve with tortilla chips.

JOHN WAYNE'S SOUTHWEST DIP

Steps:

• Chop cheese into small chunks and set aside. Chop onions. Cook meat and onion in a large skillet or dutch oven pan. Stir until brown and crumbly. Be sure to break meat into small pieces while cooking. Drain off fat. Mix in the cheese and the rest of the ingredients and cook on medium high heat stirring occasionally until cheese has melted. Do not let it stick. Serve with your favorite chips.
• Note: You can use 1 pound of beef plus 1 pound of sausage if you prefer. We like all hot sausage at my house.

CREAMY SOUTHWESTERN DIP

Steps:

• In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and sour cream until well combined.
• Stir in all remaining ingredients until well combined.
• Best to chill at least 1 hour before serving.
