Spanish Melon With Serrano Ham (Melon Con Jamon Serrano) image

Salty Serrano ham with sweet honeydew melon. This Spanish tapa takes only about 10 minutes to make and requires no cooking. A quick and delicious addition to your tapas menu! From the Spruce Eats.

1/2 ripe honeydew melon
12 slices ham (thin Serrano)

Steps:

  • Rinse the melon and pat dry. Cut melon in half, remove seeds and cut away the rind. Cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes.
  • Cut ham slices in half, bunch and fold them and arrange on top of melon pieces, skewer through ham into the melon with toothpicks to hold the ham in place.
  • Serve cold or at room temperature.

4 ripe tomatoes , chopped
1 garlic clove , finely chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
salt
pepper
20 slices of baguette
5-6 slices Serrano ham

Steps:

  • Mix together the chopped tomatoes, garlic clove, olive oil, salt and pepper. Keep in the fridge until needed.
  • To serve, toast 20 slices of baguette. Spoon a little tomato topping on to each piece of toast. Tear 5-6 slices of jamón Serrano into pieces and put one piece on each slice of bread.
