STICKY HONEY SOY CHICKEN - BAKED
Recipe video above. This is still the best, EASIEST sticky honey soy chicken recipe I have come across. And I've tried many over the years! Marginally adapted from this recipe by Sprinkles and Sprouts. The sauce is very thin when you put it together and gets even thinner while baking, but miraculously, it suddenly thickens into an incredible glaze to squidge the chicken in. It's salty and sweet with a lovely hit of sesame.Please do not double the recipe or sauce, this will prevent the sauce from reducing down to the sticky glaze you see pictured.

- Preheat oven to 200°C/390°F (180°C fan).
- Line pan: Line a baking dish with foil then baking paper. The baking tray should fit the chicken comfortably, not too spaced apart (glaze will dry out), not too snug (glaze won't thicken enough). (Note 3)
- Glaze: Mix the Glaze ingredients together.
- Pour glaze over chicken: Place onion and chicken in the baking dish skin side down, then pour the Glaze over.
- Bake 50 - 60 minutes: Bake for 25 minutes, then turn and bake for a further 25 to 35 minutes, until the chicken is browned and the glaze is sticky. If the glaze is not syrupy, remove the chicken to a plate and put the pan back in for a few minutes (it will reduce quickly).
- Squidge/coat chicken - Turn chicken and squidge in the glaze, then also spoon it over.
- Serve! Serve with rice and steamed greens, sprinkled with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro/coriander leaves.

STICKY CHICKEN
Mary Berry's sticky honey chicken recipe is an old family favourite that's quick, easy and delicious. You can also use separate thighs and drumsticks.

Steps:
- Using a sharp knife, make shallow slits in the top of the chicken legs, and arrange in a shallow dish.
- Measure all the ingredients for the marinade together in a bowl and stir until combined. Pour over the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220C/200 Fan/Gas 7.
- Line a roasting tin with baking paper, and sit the chicken legs on top, in a single layer. Spoon over the marinade and roast for 35-40 minutes, or until sticky, golden-brown and cooked through. Serve hot.

- Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear until golden, 10 to 12 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the centers should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Drain most of the excess grease from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoons behind.
- Arrange chicken thighs skin-side down in the pan. Place crushed garlic between the chicken and fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add honey, water, vinegar, and soy sauce. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until sauce reduces down and thickens slightly, 3 to 4 minutes.

- Combine honey, vinegar, paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl., Cut through the 2 wing joints with a sharp knife, discarding wing tips. Add remaining wing pieces and honey mixture to a large bowl; stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight., Preheat oven to 375°. Remove wings; reserve honey mixture. Place wings on greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake until juices run clear, about 30 minutes, turning halfway through., Meanwhile, place reserved honey mixture in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute., Remove wings from oven; preheat broiler. Place wings on a greased rack in a broiler pan; brush with honey mixture. - Make 3 slashes on each of the drumsticks. Mix together the soy, honey, oil, tomato purée and mustard. Pour this mixture over the chicken and coat thoroughly. Leave to marinate for 30 mins at room temperature or overnight in the fridge. Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6.
- Tip the chicken into a shallow roasting tray and cook for 35 mins, turning occasionally, until the chicken is tender and glistening with the marinade.
