This sugar free french toast recipe will not only blow you away, it'll also hook you so hard you'll have a hard time shaking the urge to whip up a batch for yourself everyday.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
2 slices Keto bread
2 tbsp unsalted butter (for cooking )
1 tbsp ChocZero keto hazelnut spread

Steps:

  • In a medium-size bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened almond milk, ¼ tsp of vanilla extract, and ¼ tsp of cinnamon powder.
  • Place two slices of bread into the mixture for 30 seconds to 1 minute to soak up the liquid.
  • Prepare your skillet with 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in medium heat.
  • Place your soaked bread slices into the pan and cook each side for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings and Enjoy!

  • Start by melting your butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat.While your butter is melting, combine together the sugar alternative (if granular), nutmeg and cinnamon. Set this bowl aside.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Then, stir in the ingredients from the bowl and the sugar alternative if that alternative is non granular. Lastly, pour this mixture into a shallow bowl or pie plate.
  • Dredge or dip each piece of bread through the mixture in the shallow bowl, covering it entirely. Then place the bread onto the heated skillet. Cook until browned, flipping midway through. Your toast should be golden and the eggs should be cooked.

  • Make the 90 second keto bread, but double the ingredients to make the bread thicker. For this recipe I used a 14 x 12 x 5 cm microwaveable container. Simply stir together all ingredients and microwave for 90 seconds on high.
  • Prepare the egg mix. In a mixing bowl whisk the eggs and almond milk with a fork. Option to add orange zest too.
  • Once the keto bread is cooled, soak in the egg mix. Mix the cinnamon and erythritol in a small bowl and sprinkle over both sides of the soaked bread.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet / not stick frying pan over a medium / low heat. Fry until golden brown (about 1 - 2 minutes on each side). Keep checking it so the cinnamon doesn’t burn.
