Number Of Ingredients 5

2 c nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 c fat-free powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 c baking cocoa
sugar substitute equivalent to 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients; mix well. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to six months. Yield: 2-3/4 cups (about 8 servings).
  • 2. To prepare hot cocoa: Dissolve 1/3 cup mix in 1 cup boiling water; stir well. Yield: 1 serving.
  • 3. Nutritional Analysis: One serving (1 cup prepared hot cocoa) equals 101 calories, 1 g fat (trace saturated fat), 3 mg cholesterol, 94 mg sodium, 17 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 7 g protein. Diabetic Exchange: 1 fat-free milk.
  • 4. To give as a gift. Put into one of the spring top jars found at "Michaels" or other craft shops. and give with a couple of mugs. Copy step 2 for a tag to go on the jar

2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup low-fat powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 cup baking cocoa
10 packets Equal or 1 tablespoon Equal Measure
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Combine all of the ingredients. Store in an airtight container. For each serving, add 3/4 cup boiling water to 1/3 cup cocoa mix; stir to dissolve.

This is recipe #109322 Almost sugar free. I am relisting it as sugar free to get a nutrtional breakdown as I can't find sugar free powdered milk. This has become a weekly made recipe with the winter weather and so many watching their sugar intake for several reasons. Everyone that I gave this mix to as part of a Christmas taste of home gift bag has called and asked for the recipe or asked me to make them more. But all the credit and my personal thanks goes to PAchefRebecca and recipe #109322.

2 cups nonfat dry milk powder (as low as possible in sugar)
1 1/2 cups Splenda sugar substitute
3 cups non-dairy coffee creamer, powder (sugar-free)
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 (1 ounce) box size sugar free chocolate fudge pudding mix
1 (1 ounce) box size sugar free vanilla pudding mix

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in food processor and pulse till well blended and a fine powder.
  • Store in air tight container or ziplock bag.
  • Add 1/2 cup of mix to 8 oz. hot water. Stirring well to dissolve.
  • Add more or less mix depending on personal tastes.
  • Can top with Cool Whip sugar free topping.

I was in a search for a great cocoa mix that tasted very similar to the store bought kind. I tried a couple of recipes but they just weren't it. So, I combined a few of them together and came up with this! My family just thinks it is fabulous. You can substitute different flavors of pudding but we find Chocolate fudge works the best!

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup non-dairy coffee creamer
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Stir together with a wire whisk.
  • Place mix in a sifter and sift to make a really fine powder.
  • This really make sure everything is really combined.
  • Store in a sealed container.
