You can't have a summer gathering around here without this sweet tea to cool you down. It's wonderful for sipping while basking by the pool. -Angela Lively, Baxter, Tennessee

Yield 18 servings (3/4 cup each).

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

14 cups water, divided
6 black tea bags
1-1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup thawed orange juice concentrate
3/4 cup thawed lemonade concentrate
1 cup tequila, optional
Fresh mint leaves and lemon or lime slices, optional

Steps:

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups water to a boil. Remove from the heat; add tea bags. Cover and steep for 3-5 minutes. Discard tea bags. , Stir in the sugar, concentrates and remaining water. Add tequila if desired. Refrigerate until chilled. Garnish with mint and lemon if desired.

Found this recipe in my local electric coop monthly magazine. It's really tasty and sooo good and a nice change of pace from regular iced tea. (Number of servings depends on what size glasses you use).

Ingredients

6 tea bags
4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups sugar or 1 1/2 cups sugar substitute
1 cup pineapple juice
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice, -- thawed
10 cups cold water
of fresh mint (to garnish) (optional)

Steps:

Steep tea bags in the 4 cups of boiling water for about 5 mins; discard tea bags.
In a one gallon pitcher combine tea and remaining ingredients.
Serve over ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
