TEDDY BEAR BREAD

Teddy Bear Bread image

I had lots of fun making this adorable bread with one of our granddaughters. I kept one loaf and sent the other home with her. She was so proud of it and kept it in her bedroom! Finally, she reluctantly brought it out to share with her family.

Provided by Taste of Home

Time 50m

Yield 2 loaves (12 slices each).

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1-1/2 cups warm water (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup warm milk (110° to 115°)
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
5-1/4 to 5-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
12 raisins
1 egg
1 tablespoon cold water
Ribbon, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, butter, sugar, salt and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a stiff dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into four portions. Cut one portion in half; shape into balls. TEDDY BEAR ROLLS

Teddy Bear Rolls image

These are the cutest rolls you'll ever eat! I loved all the raves..And they taste good too. I started making these for my boys when they were about 6, 8 and 10. Had to always make lots for all their friends, and all the adults loved them too. The honey butter is delish too. This is another recipe from Taste of Home. I also did tie a ribbon around the neck of the bears for the kids.(well, maybe the adults too!) If you have kids or grandkids they will be sooo excited to see the bread at the table. I often made these in the winter for my boys and their friends as a treat.

TEDDY BEAR ROLLS - CINNAMON AND SUGAR
I love that the series is called ‘A Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear Mystery‘ and the book lives up to its name. Having taken my two granddaughters to Build-A-Bear numerous times, I enjoyed the insider’s view of running a teddy bear factory and shop. The bits and pieces on how the bears are created added to the authenticity of the story.
