This sandwich will put all other sandwich recipes to shame! One look at this impressive sandwich and your family and friends will know their taste buds are in for a treat. 1 unsliced round loaf of bread (8 inches)
2 tablespoons horseradish
1/2 pound thinly sliced cooked roast beef
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/2 pound thinly sliced fully cooked ham or turkey
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 small tomato, thinly sliced
6 bacon strips, cooked
4 slices American cheese
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon onion salt

Steps:

  • Slice bread horizontally into 5 equal layers. Spread bottom layer with horseradish; top with roast beef. Place the next slice of bread over beef; spread with mustard and top with ham or turkey and Swiss cheese. Add the next slice of bread; spread with mayonnaise and top with tomato and bacon. Add the next slice o bread; top with American cheese and onion. Cover with remaining bread. Combine butter, sesame seeds and onion salt; brush over top and sides of loaf. Place on a baking sheet; loosely tent with heavy-duty foil. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Carefully slice into 8 wedges.

Great for a party or a potluck meal. I usually make my own French Bread but I've also used store bought French Bread before and it works well too.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 loaf French bread, split lengthwise
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup sliced green onion (or a few shakes of onion powder, about 1/4 tsp.)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2-1 lb deli roast beef (and or or other sandwich meat)
pickle (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix all the spread ingredients together.
  • Slice a loaf of French bread lengthwise.
  • Spread mixture on the inside of both halves.
  • Top bottom half with any combination of sandwich meats that you desire.
  • Can also be topped with pickles if you wish.
  • Place top half of bread on the sandwich and slice into individual servings.

Great sandwich in a bun - perfect for Big Game Sunday or a great fall/winter meal! Condiments to serve with: ketchup, mustards, sweet pickle relish, or barbeque sauces.

1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups shredded cabbage
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic
1 pinch crushed red pepper
½ cup ketchup
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 (1 pound) loaves frozen bread dough, thawed
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
coarse salt and cracked black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef, and drain excess fat. Reduce heat to medium, and stir in onions, cabbage, parsley, garlic, red pepper, salt and black pepper. Cook until cabbage has wilted. Remove from heat, and stir in Cheddar cheese and ketchup.
  • Divide each loaf of thawed bread dough into four equal pieces. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece into a 6 inch circle. Place about 1/2 cup of the beef mixture onto the center of each one. Carefully pinch together the edges to seal. Place buns seam side down on a lightly greased or nonstick cookie sheet. Whisk together egg and milk with a fork. Brush the tops of the buns with the egg mixture and sprinkle with coarse salt and cracked black pepper.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until nicely browned. Serve hot with condiments of choice.
