2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Whisk together oil, vinegar, lemon pepper, sugar and lemon juice. Use a funnel to pour into a clean bottle with a tight fitting lid. Shake bottle before using and pour over favorite green salad.n

This recipe was given to my mom from my grandmother and has been handed down to me. You will never find French Dressing like this.

1 cup white sugar
½ cup white vinegar
1 cup vegetable oil
½ cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 ½ small onions, grated
2 cloves garlic, pressed
¼ cup crumbled blue cheese

Steps:

  • Add ketchup, sugar, vinegar, oil, lemon juice, salt, paprika, onions, garlic and blue cheese to a glass jar. Cover, shake well, and refrigerate. This will keep in the refrigerator for quite a while.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup canola oil
Salad greens, tomato wedges and cucumber slices or vegetables of your choice

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, onion, salt and pepper; cover and process until smooth. While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream. Serve with salad. Refrigerate leftover dressing.

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
3-4 tablespoons tamari sauce
3 cloves garlic pressed or to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fersh tarragon or basil, or 1 teaspoon dried (optional)
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1 tablespoon Dijon style mustard (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Place the oil, vinegar, tamari, and garlic in a jar. Add basil, honey, and/or mustard, if desired. Screw the lid on the jar, and shake well. 2. Use on green salads or cooked vegetables. Refrigerate any leftover dressing in a covered jar.

This is a great way to get those omega 3 fatty acids, the kind that come from salmon and other fish. This recipe comes from "Veggie Life" a vegetarian magazine. I enjoy this dressing on plain baked potatoes! YUM! It is also good on plain green salads of course. You can also use this over brown rice, pasta, tofu, or steamed vegetables! I really like it and hope you will too!

1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • Combine all ingredients in an 8-ounce jar with a tight fitting lid and shake well to blend, or put all ingredients in a small bowl and blend well with a wire whisk.
