As a college student, my friend used to make these in the dorm. Then she used to make them for my kids. Not bad, I say!

Number Of Ingredients 5
Steps:
- Top each slice of bread with a slice of cheese and a hotdog.
- Fold over, and secure each with a toothpick.
- Spread butter on the outside of the bread slices.
- Toast in toaster oven until golden brown.
TOASTY DOGS
Steps:
- 1. Lay your bread flat on the surface of a non stick baking sheet. 2. Lay a slice of cheese on the bread. 3. Set a hot dog diagonal across the top of the cheese and bread. 4. Fold the corners of the bread around the hot dog until they overlap. 5. Insert a toothpick through the corners of the bread and into the hot dog to hold the bread in place. Do as many as you like and bake in a pre heated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. Take out and serve with ketchup or mustard.
CREAM CHEESE HOT DOGS
Some friends and I were swapping hot dog recipes tonight. Some one brought this one to share and oh my was I shocked. At first I was like cream cheese on hot dogs? As they say, "don't knock it til you have tried it!"

Steps:
- Preheat grill or grill pan for medium-high heat.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, and cook slowly until the onions have softened and turned deep brown, about 15 minutes. Warm the cream cheese over low heat in a small skillet until very soft.
- Grill hot dogs until well browned. Lightly grill hot dog buns on both sides.
- To assemble cheese dogs, spread warm cream cheese on toasted hot dog bun, add hot dog or sausage, top with onions, mustard and sauerkraut, if desired.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Take 1 slice of bread and spread 1 teaspoon of butter on one side. Turn the bread over and place a slice of cheese on the bread. Place a frankfurter diagonally on the cheese. Fold bread corner to corner around the frankfurter. Insert a toothpick to hold together. Repeat steps for the remaining frankfurters.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
