TOMBSTONE 'BOX' BROWNIE BITES RECIPE BY TASTY

Tombstone 'Box' Brownie Bites Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: brownie mix, milk chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkle, graham cracker

Provided by Julie Klink

Categories     Desserts

Yield 45 brownie bites

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 boxes brownie mix, prepared
3 cups milk chocolate chips
chocolate sprinkle, for decorating
graham cracker, for decorating

Steps:

  • Prepare 2 boxes of brownie mix according to instructions on box. Pour into a greased 9x9-inch (23x23-cm) square pan. Bake according to instructions on box.
  • Cut each tray of brownies into 25 small squares. Form each brownie square into a ball, rolling in palms until smooth.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips and microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth, about 1 minute and 30 seconds total.
  • Turn a plastic sandwich bag inside out and hold it from the inside with one hand. Spoon ¼ of the milk chocolate into the bag. Turn the bag back out making sure chocolate does not fall out the opening. Seal it closed. Cut the corner of the bag, keeping in mind the more you cut off the larger your piping hole will be.
  • Coat the brownie balls in the melted milk chocolate using a fork. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and chill until chocolate has hardened, about 20 minutes.
  • Place one of the milk chocolate brownie bites onto a clean surface.
  • Using a chopstick, poke a rectangular hole into the brownie bites using the flat end.
  • Break graham cracker in half into a rectangular shape. With the milk chocolate write RIP.
  • Zig zag the milk chocolate around the hole.
  • Stick the graham cracker in the hole. Coat the chocolate with chocolate sprinkles.
  • Enjoy!

  • Line an 8x8x2-inch and a 9x13x2-inch pan with foil. Prepare each brownie mix according to package directions and bake one mix in each pan following directions. Cool in pans. Use edges of foil to lift and transfer brownies to a cutting board. Remove foil. From the 9x13-inch brownie, cut 1-1/2x3-inch rectangles for tombstones. Trim the top corners off of some of the rectangles.
  • Combine powdered sugar and a little cocoa powder and sprinkle mixture over the tombstones. Tint small amounts of vanilla icing with black and purple food coloring paste. Place each tinted icing into a sealable plastic bag. Snip a tiny hole in one corner of each bag and squeeze the icing to decorate the tombstones, referring to the photo for suggestions. Lightly sprinkle tombstones again with the powdered sugar and cocoa mixture.
  • Frost the top and sides of the 8x8-inch brownie with chocolate icing and sprinkle top with cookie crumbs. Insert about half of a 4-inch length of wooden skewer into the center bottom of three brownie tombstones. Position the skewered-tombstones on the frosted brownie with opposite ends of the skewers. (Place the other tombstones on a platter for people to eat right away!)
  • For the grass, place some green food coloring paste and a few drops of water into a small sealable container; stir to mix. Add coconut, seal the container, and toss the mixture to color the coconut. Sprinkle the green coconut around the base of each tombstone on top of the graveyard brownie.

HALLOWEEN TOMBSTONE BROWNIES - MY INSPIRATION CORNER
2019-10-23 I don’t throw the brownie edges away. These make great ice cream toppings or a snack to eat before it’s time to serve the Halloween tombstone brownies. If you want the brownies to be more rectangular, cut the brownie into 6 pieces. I think that squares work great for this recipe (and I needed more brownies) so I cut this brownie into 9 pieces.
