TOMMY'S MARGARITA



Tommy's Margarita image

If you've never had a Tommy's margarita, you've arguably never had a margarita. This is the Platonic ideal of margs, with tequila, agave, and lime juice in perfect harmony. Served up and icy cold, it couldn't be more refreshing-and it won't last long.

2 ounces 100% agave tequila, such as Ocho Blanco
1 ounce Fresh-squeezed lime juice
1 ounce agave syrup (2 part agave nectar to 1 part water)
Ice
Lime, wheel slice, to garnish

Steps:

  • Make the agave syrup by stirring together 2 parts agave with 1 part hot water. Measure the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and add plenty of ice cubes. Shake with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a wheel slice of lime.

Based on a recipe from the box my Tommy Bahama Ultra Premium Rum came in. It reminds us that the Mai Tai was invented in 1944! And here I thought it was invented while I was in college! :)

3/4 ounce dark rum (Tommy Bahama brand preferred)
3/4 ounce white rum (Tommy Bahama brand preferred)
1/2 ounce almond flavored liqueur
1/2 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce orange juice
1/2 ounce pineapple juice
1/2 ounce grenadine

Steps:

  • Fill cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
  • Add rums, almond liqueur and triple sec to shaker.
  • Shake and pour into a Tiki cup.
  • Fill with juices.
  • Float grenadine on top.
  • Garnish with a cherry and pineapple slice.
