ZOMBIE
The Zombie cocktail was created in the 1930s by legendary Donn Beach of Don the Beachcomber, and the drink helped kickoff the Tiki craze.

Steps:
- Add the Jamaica rum, Puerto Rican gold rum, demerara rum, Herbsaint or Pernod, lime juice, Donn's mix, falernum, grenadine and bitters into a blender, then add 6 ounces of crushed ice.
- Blend at high speed for no more than 5 seconds.
- Pour the contents into a tall glass or Tiki mug and add additional crushed ice to fill, if necessary.
- Garnish with a mint sprig. *Donn's mix: Bring 3 crushed cinnamon sticks, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from the heat and let sit for at least 2 hours before straining into a clean glass bottle. To finish the mix, add 1 part of the syrup to 2 parts fresh grapefruit juice. Cover and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Ghoulishly good. I found this recipe in First magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping.

Steps:
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into greased and lined 13"x9" pan. Bake 30 minutes, or until inserted toothpick comes out clean; let cool 15 minutes. Invert onto cooling rack; let cool completely. Trim cake to level. Halve cake horizontally.
- Coat 1 cake layer with preserves; top with remaining layer. Using 3" oval cookie cutter, cut out 16 cakes; place on rack set in baking sheet.
- Reserve 1 tablespoon frosting. Stir food coloring into remaining frosting to make grayish swirls; pour over cakes. Chill 10 minutes. Using reserved frosting, attach remaining ingredients to form features. Place zombies on chocolate leaves, if desired.
