- Add all ingredients (except the orange) to a small pot. Cut orange in half and squeeze it into the mixture and then place them in the pot. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Grab a bowl and a mesh strainer and pout the mixture into the strainer (you don't want the big pieces or anything - you want a smooth liquid). Allow to cool and pour into a clean A-1 bottle or air-tight container. Store in fridge.

- Put all ingredients into a small pan and bring to a low simmer.
- Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
- Strain into a bowl by pouring through a fine mesh strainer, pushing raisins with the back of a spoon to release all juices.

- In a saucepan, combine all ingredients except for the orange.
- Squeeze the juice from the orange into the saucepan and then add in the juiced orange segments.
- Bring to a boil, lower light to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. At 5 minutes, remove orange segments and discard.
- Continue simmering, stirring occasionally, for another 10 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer (make sure to strain into a measuring cup or other container!).Use a spoon or spatula to push all the liquid out of the chunky bits.

- Tamari. If you’re not dealing with a soy allergy or monitoring your sodium intake, tamari is the closest in taste to soy sauce. That’s because it’s also made from soybeans and brewed in a similar way, but it doesn’t contain wheat, so it’s gluten-free.
- Worcestershire sauce. Another fermented sauce, this British condiment usually contains a blend of malt vinegar, anchovies, spices, sugar, salt, garlic, onions, tamarind extract and molasses.
- Coconut aminos. A sauce made from fermented coconut sap, coconut aminos has an umami flavor profile that’s similar to soy sauce. It’s a little bit sweeter, but it’s also lower in sodium (about 90 milligrams per teaspoon compared to 290 milligrams in soy sauce) and gluten-free.
