Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Cut the top off the head of garlic and place on a square piece of aluminum foil. Bring the foil up and around garlic. Pour olive oil on top and season with salt and pepper. Close ends of foil over garlic, creating a pouch.

16 ounces baby bella mushrooms
1.5 Tablespoons oil of choice (see variations below)
2 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1.5 Tablespoons sesame oil
1 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 green onions (sliced)
1.5 Tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh parsley (minced)
1 Tablespoon coconut aminos

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, turn to 400 degrees and wait about 5 minutes for it to come to temperature.
  • Meanwhile, cut the mushrooms in half and mince the garlic.
  • Add the mushrooms, oil of choice, salt, and garlic to a large bowl. If using the optional balsamic vinegar or coconut aminos, add that in as well. Mix well to coat the mushrooms with the oil and seasonings.
  • Once the air fryer is hot, pour the seasoned mushrooms into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Although the mushrooms may touch (they'll shrink a lot during cooking), be careful not to overcrowd the basket too much.
  • Close the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes, then stop to gently shake the basket or use a spatula to turn them. Air fry again for another 5-7 minutes, checking near the end of the cook time to make sure they aren't overcooking.
  • Transfer the cooked mushrooms to a serving bowl or dish, garnish with green onions or parsley (if using), and serve!

3 tbsp Flour
2 Eggs (lightly beaten)
1 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 tbsp Parsley (dried)

Steps:

  • Remove any dirt from the mushrooms with damp paper towel, and then let them dry.
  • Place a wax paper on a large plate and set aside.
  • Prepare 4 small shallow bowls.
  • Fill one bowl with water. In the 2nd bowl, place the flour. In the 3rd bowl, add the eggs and beat lightly. In the 4th bowl, add the bread crumbs, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Dip each mushroom in water, then flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally the bread crumb mixture. Make sure the mushroom is coated evenly.
  • Set aside on the large plate. Once all the mushrooms are coated, place them in the fridge for about 15-30 minutes to let the coating set.
  • Lightly oil the air fryer basket. Place the mushrooms in a single layer in the basket. Cook at 400°F until golden brown at about 7 minutes, flipping them over halfway through.
  • Once done, let the air fried breaded mushrooms rest for a while, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

  • Air fry mode (air crisp) at 400F (200C) for 8-10 minutes.
  • Flip or shake halfway
  • Now, your mushrooms are ready. Place them onto the serving plate. Add chopped garlic, pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well and enjoy!
  • Sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese if desired. Parmesan cheese adds a rich, savory taste to these mushrooms.
