Categories     main-dish

Time 55m

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 cups jarred marinara sauce
8 no-boil lasagna noodles
15 ounces ricotta cheese
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
One 8-ounce jar pesto
12 slices mozzarella
2 cups packaged precooked crumbled sausage
12 frozen meatballs, thawed and finely diced
2 pinches garlic powder
2 pinches red pepper flakes
1 cup grated Parmesan
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Crusty bread, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Cover the bottom of a quarter sheet pan with 1 cup of the marinara sauce. Top with 4 of the no-boil noodles. Cover the noodles with half of the ricotta, then sprinkle the ricotta with salt and black pepper. Spoon over half of the pesto and spread it so it is evenly distributed. Arrange 6 slices of mozzarella in a layer on top of the pesto. Mix the sausage crumbles and meatballs together, then spoon half over the mozzarella. Sprinkle with a pinch of garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Repeat the layers once more, ending with the red pepper flakes.
  • Add the remaining cup of marinara over the top and sprinkle over the grated Parmesan. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and cook until hot and bubbly, another 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Let the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes, then garnish with parsley and serve with crusty bread.

ONE-PAN LASAGNA RECIPE BY TASTY

One-pan Lasagna Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: canola oil, ground beef, kosher salt, ground black pepper, garlic, medium onion, marinara sauce, lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil

Provided by Tasty

Categories     Dinner

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 tablespoon canola oil
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups marinara sauce, divided
6 lasagna sheets
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F (180°C).
  • Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  • Cook the beef, salt, and pepper until the moisture has evaporated and the beef is starting to brown.
  • Add the garlic and onion and cook until onions are starting to become translucent.
  • Add one cup (260 g) of the marinara sauce and cook until the sauce has reduced to a paste.
  • Using a large spoon or a spatula, push some of the beef mixture toward the side of the pan, creating a gap that allows you to slide lasagna sheets underneath the beef. Break about two lasagna sheets in order to fill in the cracks.
  • Top the beef mixture with the rest of the lasagna sheets. Spread the rest of the marinara sauce on top of the sheets. Dollop the ricotta on top of the sauce and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the ricotta, and top with the basil.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Cool, slice, then serve.
  • Enjoy!

SIMPLY TRADITIONAL LASAGNA

Simply Traditional Lasagna image

A traditional lasagna, with about half the time and effort! I always cook extra to have leftovers, but the more I cook, the more they eat! Serve with garlic toast and salad.

Provided by Kris Swiggum

Categories     World Cuisine Recipes     European     Italian

Time 1h

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 pound ground beef
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
½ cup warm water
1 cup sliced black olives
1 pinch basil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 ½ teaspoons dried sage
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
2 (14 ounce) jars marinara sauce
1 (16 ounce) package lasagna noodles
8 ounces ricotta cheese
1 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease. Stir in the water and black olives, and season with basil, garlic powder, oregano, sage, pepper, minced garlic, and onion flakes. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the marinara sauce, and remove from the heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Place a layer of the meat and sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with a layer of dry noodles. Spread a thin layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, and sprinkle with a little mozzarella cheese. Cover with another layer of sauce, and repeat layering ending with the meat and sauce on top. Reserve about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese for later.
  • Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, but check after 30 minutes depending on how thick the lasagna is. Lasagna is cooked when you can easily stick a knife into it. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top, and return to the oven for about 10 minutes for a nice melted cheese topping.

ALL-CRUST SHEET-PAN LASAGNA RECIPE

All-Crust Sheet-Pan Lasagna Recipe image

Provided by á-2510

Number Of Ingredients 12

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for oiling foil
12 ounces sweet Italian sausage, casings removed (about 3 links)
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
One 28-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes, crushed by hand
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
One 15-ounce container whole-milk ricotta cheese (about 2 cups)
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup packed basil leaves, roughly chopped
3/4 cup grated Parmesan
One 1-pound block whole-milk mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 4 cups)
12 flat no-boil lasagna noodles (7-by-3.5-inches each)

Steps:

  • Special equipment: an 18-by-13-inch sheet pan Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Transfer the sausage to a bowl with a slotted spoon and reserve the drippings in the pan. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil and the garlic to the pan. When the garlic begins to brown at the edges, about 1 minute, add the tomatoes with their juices, 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens, about 8 minutes. Mix the ricotta, egg, milk, basil, 1/2 cup of the grated Parmesan, 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper together in a large bowl. Spread 2/3 cup of the tomato sauce across the bottom of an 18-by-13-inch sheet pan. Next, space out 6 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, turning them to fit so there are 2 noodles across and 3 noodles down. (The noodles will expand when they cook.) Top the noodles with all of the ricotta mixture, all of the sausage, 2/3 cup tomato sauce, and half the shredded mozzarella. Add another layer of 6 lasagna noodles and top with the remaining sauce, mozzarella, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan. Lightly oil one side of a large piece of foil. Cover the pan with the foil, greased side down. Bake until the noodles are tender when pierced with a paring knife, about 20 minutes. Carefully remove the foil and continue to bake until the top is very crusty and brown, 10 to 15 minutes more.

HOMEMADE LASAGNA SHEETS

Homemade Lasagna Sheets image

Homemade lasagna sheets are easier to make than you think and you don't even need a pasta machine! And forget about blanching the sheets before baking - no precooking is required!

Provided by Alemarsi

Categories     World Cuisine Recipes     European     Italian

Time 1h40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 ¼ cups Italian-style tipo 00 flour, plus additional for dusting
3 large eggs
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon water as needed

Steps:

  • Place flour on a marble or wooden work surface. Make a well in the center and crack in eggs; add salt. Gently beat eggs using a fork, incorporating the surrounding flour, until mixture is runny. Bring remaining flour into the mixture using a bench scraper until dough forms a ball. Mix in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, if dough feels too stiff.
  • Knead dough with your hands by flattening the ball, stretching it, and folding the top towards the center. Turn 45 degrees and repeat until dough is soft and smooth, about 10 minutes.
  • Shape dough into a ball. Place in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm, 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into 3 equal portions. Take one piece and flatten it a bit with your hands. Dust a work surface with flour and roll dough out using a rolling pin 5 to 6 times. Turn the dough 45 degrees and roll out again, 5 to 6 times. Keep rolling and turning in the same way until the dough is evenly very thin. When you hold up the dough, you should be able to see your fingers through it.
  • Cut the pasta into rectangular sheets to fit your baking dish using a pastry wheel or a knife. Transfer lasagna sheets to a floured kitchen towel and let air-dry about 30 minutes before assembling.
