ANTS ON A LOG (FOR A TEA PARTY)
These are cute for kids and healthy, too. They go well with other things at a tea party. Also, they would be good for a lunch for the kids. If it is for a tea party the inside stalks will be more dainty, but if it is for the child's lunch, any stalk will do.

Steps:
- Trim the long sides of each pound cake at an angle using a serrated knife. Use the knife to carve out a 1/2-inch-deep, 2 1/2-inch-wide channel down the center of each cake.
- Cover the cakes with the frosting, leaving the bottom of the channel unfrosted. Use the back of a fork to make grooves in the frosting. Put the cakes in the freezer until the frosting sets, about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the peanut butter filling: Beat the butter and peanut butter in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the confectioners' sugar on low speed until smooth. Set aside.
- Mix a few drops of green food coloring in a small bowl with a drop of yellow food coloring and a splash of water. Brush onto the frosting. Adjust the color with more food coloring or water as needed.
- Spread the peanut butter filling into the channel in each cake using the back of a spoon.
- Arrange the prunes on top of the peanut butter filling.

FANCY ANTS ON A LOG
I think I'm going to alternatively name it "Gentlemen Ants On A Log". This is just yummy. I made it up for my sister's bug party--we're doing something a little more adult, and a little more fancy, so I updated the recipe for grown-ups (of course, it is still kid-friendly). I used a mixture of imitation honey and splenda--so yes, fiddle with the sweetness and honey flavor as you like.

Steps:
- Optional Step: Soak raisins in just enough rum to cover for at least one hour, or overnight. You can cook the rum first for a nonalcoholic version for kids. Drain before using.
- Cut the celery stalks into 2-3 inch logs.
- Cream together the cream cheese, peanut butter, and honey (the cream cheese and peanut butter can be eyeballed to equal parts; the honey is more to taste. When I'm done, it tastes almost like cheesecake).
- Spread the peanut butter mixture into the valleys of each log. Alternatively, fill a dessert decorator and pump the peanut butter mixture into the valley like frosting.
- Line up raisins along the center.
- Variation:.
- I won't put up a different recipe for every nifty ants on a log idea I come up with, so here are a couple of ideas:.
- Spread nutella down the valley of the celery and garnish with raisins.
- Or, spread Recipe #120220 over the valley of the celery and garnish with raisins.

ANTS ON A LOG SPREAD
I make this snack as a protein pick-me-up. It reminds of "Ants on a Log" from my childhood, and it's great on an English muffin or apple slices. -Lisa Hummitsch, Tinley Park, Illinois

ANTS ON A LOG (LUNCH BOX SURPRISE)
For our 5 year olds lunch box for either snack time or lunch for his first year at kindergarten that are reasonably healthy but will bring a smile to his face when he finds them. Snacks cannot have peanuts or peanut butter this year. This recipe would also be good for long car trips.
