BRUSSELS SPROUTS WITH BACON AND APPLE
Prepare this sweet and savory Thanksgiving side ahead of time. The bacon, Brussels sprouts, and apples are roasted in batches on the same baking sheet, then finished with a splash of red-wine vinegar.

- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Arrange bacon in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake until browned, 10 minutes. Add Brussels sprouts in a single layer; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast until they begin to brown, about 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, and toss in apple. Return to oven; roast until Brussels sprouts are browned and tender and apple has softened, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Toss vegetables with vinegar, and serve immediately.

- Preheat oven to 425°. Place first 4 ingredients in a small microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high 30 seconds., Place Brussels sprouts in a 15x10x1-in. pan; toss with 3 tablespoons oil mixture. Roast 10 minutes., Toss bread crumbs with rosemary and remaining oil mixture; sprinkle over sprouts. Bake until crumbs are browned and sprouts are tender, 12-15 minutes. Serve immediately.

- Place the steak on a plate.
- Mix the remaining items together and rub 2 Tbs onto the steak, both sides.
- Marinate for 1/2 hour and then broil on an oven rack to your liking.

We're giving the mighty steak a lot of love in this meal. (Not that it needs it; steak is both juicy delicious and meaty good.) There's an apple butter demi spooned on top, with a sweet earthy richness that brings out the succulent best notes. But that's not the only part we've got love for; potatoes are given a herbaceous boost with rosemary topping and those tiny green cabbages, Brussels, are getting both cheese and bacon as accouterments. All is full of love.

- Before You Cook If using any fresh produce, thoroughly rinse and pat dry Turn oven on to 400 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes Prepare a baking sheet with foil and cooking spray Refer to minimum internal temperature chart on front of card for your protein Cooking Guidelines To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures: Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) | Seafood 145° F | Chicken 165° F | Ground Beef 160° F | Ground Turkey 165° F | Ground Pork 160° F Customize It Instructions If using chicken breasts, follow same instructions as sirloin in Steps 1 and 3, cooking until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side. - Combine the red wine, salt and rosemary in a small bowl. Let stand at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours.
- Heat a large griddle or cast-iron skillet over high heat. Place the steaks on the hot pan, and cook for about 8 minutes per side, or to desired degree of doneness. The internal temperature should be at least 145 degrees F (62 degrees C) for medium rare. Pour in the wine mixture, and allow it to boil for a minute. Serve steaks with sauce on a deep platter.
