Apple Weenies image

I got this one from a friend I used to work with and modified it some. The best thing about these weenies is that they are so easy. And with only 4 ingredients, it's pretty hard to mess up! Great for parties, showers or pot luck dinners!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 lb cocktail franks (I use Little Smokies)
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and sliced into 12 sections (I like the tart apples like Granny Smith)
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large vidalia onions or 1 large yellow sweet onion, sliced into 1/2 " strips

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in large pot.
  • Simmer on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until all sugar is disolved and weiners are hot.

The kids' favorite in an easy crock pot version. I don't remember where I got this recipe but I'm glad I have it. I reduce the amounts by half and cook this is my 1-1/2 quart crock pot for just my husband and myself.

1 lb hot dog, cut in fourths
3 (16 ounce) cans pork and beans
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 cup molasses
2 teaspoons mustard

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours.
