Great freezer-friendly appetizer! Can be made, frozen, and kept for up to 2 to 3 months in the freezer.

2 loaves white bread, crusts removed and slices quartered
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 small onion, minced
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon paprika, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Combine cream cheese, onion, and egg yolks in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer until blended. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on bread and lightly sprinkle with paprika. Place on baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese puffs start to slightly brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

This is a summer favorite from my childhood! Sliced strawberries, mixed with whipped cream and gelatin for texture, on top of a yummy graham cracker crust.

1 cup graham cracker crumbs
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
¼ cup cold water
1 cup heavy whipping cream
½ cup chopped strawberries
⅓ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl; mix until evenly moistened and press into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is lightly browned and smells toasted, about 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool.
  • Soak gelatin in cold water for 3 minutes. Heat the water and gelatin in the top of a double boiler set over simmering water, stirring frequently, until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  • Beat whipping cream in a chilled glass or metal bowl until soft peaks form.
  • Stir strawberries and 1/3 cup sugar together in a bowl. Pour gelatin mixture over strawberries. Gently fold in whipped cream until incorporated. Pour filling into baked pie shell and chill in the refrigerator until set, at least 2 hours.

"My niece and I LOVE cheesey potatoes, so I've come up with this yummy recipe. It's a really great side for burgers or meatloaf, instead of fries or mashed potatoes! This recipe also is great for pot luck dinners! You can always make it ahead of time, and then bake later. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!"

1/2 cup butter
1 cup chopped onion (about 1 medium onion)
1 (30 ounce) package frozen shredded hash browns (thawed)
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of potato soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 -2 cup crushed potato chips ("Lays" preferred)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Saute onions in butter on medium heat until soft (do not brown). Cool.
  • In Large bowl, combine hash browns, soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, onions/butter mixture together.
  • Transfer to a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  • Bake, uncovered, for approx 30 minutes.
  • Pull out of the oven, top with crushed potato chips, then put back in the oven.
  • Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes untill heated all the way through.
  • Let stand for approx 10 minutes before serving.

1 pkg (28-32 oz.) shredded hash browns
2 tablespoons dried minced onions
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
16 oz sour cream
1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter
8-10 oz shredded cheddar
2 cups crushed corn flakes
1/2 stick butter

Steps:

  • In a large casserole dish combine everything except for the corn flakes and 1/2 stick butter.
  • Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  • Combine crushed corn flakes and 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) melted butter. Sprinkle on top and bake 10 more minutes.

1 (2 lb) bag frozen hash browns (shredds or cubes)
1 pint half-and-half cream
1/2 cup butter
3/4 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Thaw hash browns for at least one hour.
  • Heat half& half, butter and cheeses over low heat until melted.
  • Pour over potatoes and mix lightly.
  • Pour into greased oblong baking dish, let stand 1 hour.
  • Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour or until browned and bubbly.
