CHEESE AND BACON-STUFFED PASTA SHELLS



Cheese and Bacon-Stuffed Pasta Shells image

A yummy winter warmer! This dish is great served with a crisp green salad and garlic bread.

1 (8 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 slices smoked bacon, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
ground black pepper to taste
3 cups tomato puree
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
5 ounces fresh Buffalo mozzarella

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain, and cool.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the bacon, onion, and garlic until bacon starts to crisp and onion and garlic have softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.
  • Mix the bread crumbs, cream cheese, parsley, and the bacon mixture in a large bowl; season with pepper to taste.
  • Pour the tomato puree into a large, shallow casserole dish; stir in the rosemary.
  • Spoon the bacon and breadcrumb mixture equally into the pasta shells. Arrange the stuffed shells in the casserole dish. Coarsely chop the mozzarella and scatter over the pasta shells. Bake in preheated oven until cheese is melted and sauce bubbles, about 30 minutes.

1 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon plus 1/4 cup butter, divided
1-1/2 cups ricotta cheese
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened, divided
1-1/2 cups shredded Asiago cheese, divided
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup 2% milk
2 cups shredded Romano cheese
1-1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. , Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute mushrooms and onion in 1 tablespoon butter until tender., In a large bowl, beat ricotta and 4 ounces cream cheese until blended. Stir in 1/2 cup Asiago cheese, Parmesan cheese, bacon, 1 tablespoon parsley, garlic salt, nutmeg, pepper and mushroom mixture. Spoon into shells; place in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish., Preheat oven to 350°. In a large saucepan, melt remaining butter. Stir in flour until smooth; gradually add cream, broth and milk. This recipe originally called for feta cheese, which we don't care for. I like it with sharp cheddar, but you can use whatever you like!

6 boneless chicken breasts
6 ounces cheddar cheese, crumbled (or your favorite)
1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
14 1/2 ounces canned diced tomatoes
olive oil

Steps:

  • Cut a slit (as if to butterfly but do not cut all the way through the ends so it makes a pocket) in each chicken breast.
  • Stuff with cheese and crumbled bacon (the more the better, I think).
  • Use a toothpick to secure the pocket closed.
  • Brown stuffed chicken in olive oil in a fry pan until golden brown, then add diced tomatoes and cover, cooking until chicken is thoroughly done.
  • Before serving, remove toothpicks.

17-20 About 17-20 cooked shells
1 lb of ground meat
10 slices of chopped bacon
5 slices of American cheese
3/4 cup of chopped onion
1 10 oz can of drained diced tomatoes
1/4 cup of ketchup
1 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. In a skillet add chopped bacon. Cook on medium heat about halfway through. Drain the excess grease & add the onion & cook until bacon is crispy. Drain grease again. Add ground beef & spices. Brown the meat until fully cooked & drain. Turn heat down & add the diced tomatoes & ketchup. Stir well & add cheese to the top. Once melted stir until the cheese is evenly distributed. Stuff shells with meat mixture and place into a baking dish. Spoon the cheese sauce (see below) over the shells. Cover & bake for about 10-15 minutes. Easy Cheese sauce: Make the cheese sauce after stuffing the shells, as the sauce will thicken quickly. 5 slices of American cheese 1/3 cup of milk 1/4 tsp ground mustard 1/4 tsp salt Pepper to taste Directions: In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients over low heat & stir until sauce is smooth.

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 cups Progresso™ reduced sodium chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed
1 package (1 oz) ranch salad dressing & seasoning mix
2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 package (10 oz) Cascadian Farm™ organic frozen cut leaf spinach, thawed, squeezed to drain
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
1/2 cup sliced green onions
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup Progresso™ original panko crispy bread crumbs
1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Cook and drain pasta shells as directed on box.
  • In 4-quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. With whisk, stir in flour until smooth. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  • In 4-cup glass measuring cup, mix broth and whipping cream. Gradually stir broth mixture into saucepan. Increase heat to medium-high; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute; reduce heat to medium. Add cream cheese and cook until melted, beating occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir dressing mix into sauce mixture. Pour 1 cup of the sauce into bottom of baking dish, spreading to cover.
  • In medium bowl, mix 1 cup of the sauce, the chicken, spinach, 1 cup of the shredded cheese and 1/4 cup of the green onions.
  • Fill each pasta shell with a heaping tablespoonful chicken mixture; place in baking dish. Pour remaining sauce on top of shells. Cover; bake 35 to 40 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheese; bake uncovered about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Meanwhile, in 8-inch skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add bread crumbs; stir to coat. Cook and stir 2 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Before serving, top shells with bacon, bread crumbs and remaining 1/4 cup green onions.

In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1-1/2 cups Italian cheese blend, Parmesan cheese, pesto, egg and half of the beef mixture., Spread 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish.
