Favorite Baked Spaghetti image

This yummy baked spaghetti casserole will be requested again and again for potlucks and family gatherings. It's especially popular with my grandchildren, who just love baked spaghetti with all the cheese. -Louise Miller, Westminster, Maryland

1 package (16 ounces) spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 jar (24 ounces) pasta sauce
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 large eggs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups 4% cottage cheese
4 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Chopped fresh basil, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook spaghetti according to package directions for al dente. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender, 6-8 minutes, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in pasta sauce and seasoned salt; set aside., In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, Parmesan cheese and butter. Drain spaghetti; add to egg mixture and toss to coat., Place half of the spaghetti mixture in a greased 13x9-in. or 3-qt. baking dish. Top with half of the cottage cheese, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Place baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet., Cover and bake for 40 minutes. Uncover; bake until heated through, 20-25 minutes longer. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. If desired, sprinkle with basil.

1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
½ teaspoon seasoned salt
2 eggs
⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups small curd cottage cheese, divided
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir beef and onion until meat is browned and onions are soft and translucent, about 7 minutes. Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt.
  • Whisk eggs, Parmesan cheese, and butter in a large bowl. Mix in spaghetti to egg mixture and toss to coat. Place half the spaghetti mixture into baking dish. Top with half the cottage cheese, mozzarella, and meat sauce. Repeat layers. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake until the cheese is melted and lightly browned, 20 to 25 minutes longer.

1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, peeled and quartered
1 can (15 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8 ounce size) low-sodium tomato sauce
1 1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces uncooked spaghetti or linguine pasta, broken into thirds
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Italian seasoning, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir in the broken pasta and let cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. 8 ounces spaghetti, uncooked
1 large onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, peeled and chopped
1 lb ground beef
1 (14 ounce) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (10 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups water
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • In a large frying pan, cook onion, garlic and ground beef until meat is browned, drain.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, one cup of water, seasonings.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • White meat mixture is simmering, break up spaghetti strands into three parts, Place in an ovenproof casserole dish such as a 9 X 13.
  • Add the other 1/2 cup water and mix with raw spaghetti.
  • Add meat mixture and combine all ingredients.
  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
  • Uncover casserole, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.

This recipe is one of my Mom's favorites to make for my husband and my 4 yr old son when we come to visit. They gobble it up!

1 lb spaghetti, cooked as directed
2 tablespoons oil
1 large vidalia onion, diced (sweet, yellow)
3 lbs lean ground beef
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
6 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Cook spaghetti according to directions on box. (I suggest buying actual spaghetti, not thin spaghetti or angel hair because you need a hearty noodle.) Drain and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, in large stock pot add oil and brown onions until soft. Add beef and brown. DO NOT DRAIN FAT, this is needed for the flavor. (If you must use regular ground beef (80/20 fat) drain 1/2 the fat only. I like ground round or ground sirloin.) Add salt, pepper and tomato sauce. Blend well. Add cooked spaghetti. Toss well. Then add 4 cups of cheese and mix well. Pour into greased 15x10x2 or larger pan and top with remaining 2 cups of cheese. Bake 20-30 minutes, or until bubbly. Remove from oven and allow to stand 5 minutes to firm up then ENJOY!

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 pound ground beef, browned and drained, optional
12 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Add the tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, oregano and, if desired, ground beef. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. , Place half of the spaghetti in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer with half of the vegetable mixture and 1 cup cheddar cheese. Repeat layers. , In a small bowl, combine soup and water until smooth; pour over casserole. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° until heated through, 30-35 minutes.

Garlic
Italian seasoning
lb 1/2 to 1 hamburger
3 teaspoon s vegetable cooking oil
1 lb thin spaghetti
1/2 lb Velveeta Cheese

Steps:

  • Combine your tomato puree, garlic, Italian seasoning, hamburger and vegetable cooking oil in a 4 quart pot. Cook until you prepare your spaghetti as directed on the box for al dente. When spaghetti is cooked add to sauce.
  • Cut up 1/2 the cheese into chunks, add to sauce and stir. Place other 1/2 of the cheese cut into slices on top of spaghetti.
  • Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes after removing it from the oven.
