Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream margarine with sugar and eggs.
- Mix in banana and vanilla.
- Mix flour with remaining dry ingredients.
- Add flour mixture to margarine mixture in 3 parts, alternately with sour milk.
- Begin and end with flour.
- Spread in 2 greased 8" cake pans.
- Bake in oven about 40 minutes.
- When cool, frost generously with chocolate butter frosting.

- Preheat oven to 400°. In a microwave, melt chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. Cool. Beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt on high speed until thick and pale, about 5 minutes. Sift in flour; mix just until combined. Fold in chocolate mixture., Spoon batter into 8 buttered 4-oz. ramekins dusted with cocoa. Place ramekins on a baking sheet. Bake until a toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean, 12-15 minutes. Run a small knife around sides of ramekins. Invert onto cooling rack; let stand 5 minutes. Remove ramekins; place cakes on individual plates., For bananas, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss banana slices with sugar until well coated; arrange in a single layer in skillet. Do not stir bananas until bottoms are golden brown, 4-5 minutes. Turn; cook until second side is golden brown, 4-5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Place bananas on plates with cakes., For sauce, heat wine and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Whisk in chocolate. Pour over cakes.

- For the cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl. Puree bananas, add sugar and puree until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, rum and process until combined. Add yogurt, pulse to combine. Pour into large work bowl. Gently fold in dry ingredients by two additions. Pour into 9 by 9 baking pan which has been lightly greased with canola oil. Bake about 25 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
- For the sorbet: In a saucepan combine 1 cup of the water, sugar and cocoa powder. Over medium heat whisk until dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate until melted. Add remaining water and rum. When cooked, pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
- To assemble: Slice cake into 9 squares; slice each square in half diagonally. Lay banana slices on top, sprinkle liberally with sugar. Place under broiler or caramelize sugar with a blowtorch. Place 2 halves on plate, with a scoop of sorbet alongside and a few almonds around.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 8” round cake pans. Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer or in a large bowl with your hand mixer until fluffy and add eggs one at a time and beat until smooth. Sift the remaining dry ingredients together.
- Mash bananas in a bowl with sour cream and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and banana mixture alternately to the sugar and egg mixture in thirds, blending to combine each time, but trying not to overbeat.
- Divide into two cake pans and bake 27-34 minutes, until a skewer in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack completely before frosting.
- Prepare the frosting: Blend melted chocolate with melted butter and vanilla. Sift the sugar and salt to remove lumps, then blend into chocolate butter mixture. It should look like wet sand.
