Make this crowd-pleasing 7-layer salad for any occasion. Lettuce, tomatoes & cucumbers look so pretty layered & topped with bacon & cheddar cheese.

Number Of Ingredients 13

6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
4 cups seeded and chopped tomatoes
4 cups seeded and chopped cucumbers
1 (16-oz) package thawed frozen baby peas
½ cup sliced green onions
2 cups sliced radishes
2 cups sour cream or light sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise or light mayonnaise
¼ cup lemon juice
2 teaspoons salt
¼ cup sugar, optional
1½ cups shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Steps:

  • In a large trifle dish, layer lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber.
  • In a medium bowl, combine peas and green onion and layer on top of cucumber. Layer radishes over pea mixture.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and, if using, sugar, stirring until smooth. Spread evenly over radish layer, sealing edges. Top with cheese and bacon.
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

2 cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil; cover, remove from heat, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the eggs from hot water, cool, peel and chop.
  • Layer 1/2 of the lettuce in the bottom of a large bowl. Follow with a layer of celery, bell pepper, green onion, mushrooms, peas and egg. Top with remaining lettuce.
  • Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, brown sugar, garlic powder and curry powder. Spread evenly over top of salad. Sprinkle with bacon bits and Parmesan cheese. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

This is a wonderful sweet salad and it looks good and tastes good as well. A friend gave me the glass bowl with the recipe as a birthday gift. I often cut the recipe down and make it for a little family get-together! The cook time is the actual chill time!

2 cups lettuce, torn into pieces
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups mushrooms, fresh,sliced
2 cups English cucumbers
2 cups frozen peas, thaw and drained
2 cups mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup almonds, sliced,roasted
1 cup water chestnut, sliced
2 cups cauliflower florets
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup green pepper, chopped
1 cup red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup green onion, sliced
1/2 cup red onion, chopped or rings
1/2 cup crumbled bacon, pieces cooked
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup Miracle Whip (or use All mayonnaise instead of half and half)
1 tablespoon brown sugar or 1 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon curry powder (optional)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large straight-sided glass bowl, layer the lettuce, broccoli, mushrooms, cucumber slices, peas and drained mandarin oranges.
  • Top with lightly roasted almonds.
  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Miracle Whip with the brown sugar.
  • Mix well and add the garlic powder.
  • Spread mixture evenly over salad.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  • Cover and chill 8-12 hours before serving.

one head of iceburg lettuce (, shredded or sliced)
12 to 16 ounce bag of small sweet peas (, frozen)
1/2 purple onion (, diced)
6 hard boiled eggs (, chopped)
1 pound of bacon (, cut into lardons, and fried)
1-1.5 cups mayonnaise
1/4 cup to 1/3 cup sugar ((mix with mayo to make salad topping/dressing))
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • /2 of the lettuce
  • peas
  • onion
  • egg
  • bacon
  • remaining lettuce
  • ice with mayonnaise dressing
  • top with cheddar cheese
  • Wrap really well with plastic wrap; refrigerate for 24 hours
  • Unwrap and serve
