The Brooklyn Cocktail image

This is a rye whiskey cocktail similar to its brother, the Manhattan, but this one has dry vermouth, optional Amer Picon, and a splash of maraschino liqueur. You can find Amer Picon online; if you like, use that in place of the bitters.

ice
2 fluid ounces rye whiskey
1 fluid ounce dry vermouth
1 dash aromatic bitters (such as Angostura®)
1 dash maraschino liqueur
1 lemon twist for garnish

Steps:

  • Place ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour in rye whiskey and dry vermouth. Add aromatic bitters and maraschino liqueur. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass; garnish with lemon twist.n

This is from my Hilary Walden cocktail book. I'm not really a great lover of Tequila but in this drink you can't really taste it. This is lovely to sip on over ice.

30 ml lemon juice

Steps:

  • Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker & serve in a tall glass.

½ fluid ounce coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®)
½ fluid ounce Irish cream liqueur (such as Bailey's®)
½ fluid ounce triple sec

Steps:

  • Pour coffee liqueur into a shot glass. Carefully pour in Irish cream liqueur so it floats on top. Pour triple sec on top so it floats as well, to create a three-layered drink.

Depending upon how thin the slices of meat are and how thick you like your sandwich you can add more meat as you see fit.

3 slices rye bread
4 slices corned beef, deli sliced
4 slices roast beef, deli sliced
4 slices turkey breast, deli sliced
mayonnaise, to taste
mustard, to taste
lettuce leaf
2 cocktail onions
2 green olives

Steps:

  • Spread slices of bread with mustard and mayonnaise.
  • Cover bottom slice with lettuce and top with 2 slices of each meat in layers.
  • Add second slice of bread and top with remaining meat, more lettuc and third slice of bread.
  • Cut in half and spear an olive and cocktail onion with a toothpick and insert in one half and repeat with second half.
