CHARLESTON CHEWIES WITH PECANS
Made from simple ingredients like brown sugar, butter and pecans, these chewies stir up in just minutes and will become a family favorite.

Steps:
- Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray.
- Melt butter over medium low heat.
- Mix brown sugar and flour in large mixing bowl.
- Pour melted butter into the large mixing bowl and combine. Add vanilla, eggs and pecans, stirring until well combined.
- Bake in prepared pan at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely before dusting with confectioners sugar and cutting into bars.

- Preheat oven to 350˚F
- Butter an 8-inch square baking dish with softened butter
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter
- Turn off the heat, then add the brown sugar and vanilla and almond extract, and stir until smooth
- Stir in egg
- Whisk together flour and baking powder, then fold into the brown sugar mixture
- Fold in pecans
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes
- Let cool, then sift confectioners' sugar on top
- Cut into 16 squares

- In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Turn off the heat, add the brown sugar and stir until smooth. Stir in the egg. Stir together the flour and baking powder and stir into the brown sugar mixture. Add the vanilla and pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes. When cool, dust the top with a sifting of confectioners' sugar.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan, or for thinner bars, use a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
- Melt butter, add sugars, and blend well by hand (no mixer). Add beaten eggs, stir well. Add flour and stir until all lumps are gone. Add pecans and vanilla.

- Preheat oven to 350* Grease and flour a 13x9 pan. Set aside.
- In medium bowl, sift flour; set aside. In a large bowl mix brown sugar and butter on high until combined. Add in eggs and extracts. Mix on med. high until blended. Add 1/2 flour; mix until combined. Add in remaining flour; mix until combined. Lastly, fold in pecans with a mixing spoon. Batter will be thick. Spoon batter in pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting into 2 inch. squares.
- **Note**: if you use a glass baking dish or a dark coated pan, reduce heat to 325*.
