Cake Batter Chex Mix Recipes

CAKE MIXES FROM SCRATCH AND VARIATIONS

Steps:

• For a Yellow Cake: Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in shortening until fine crumbs are formed. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla. Beat at low speed for 1 minute, then high for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl frequently.
• Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree F oven (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
• Variation for a White Cake: Prepare as for the basic cake except use 3 egg whites for the 2 whole eggs. Whites may be beaten separately and added for a lighter cake.
• Variation for a Chocolate Cake: Add 1/4 cup cocoa powder to the basic cake mix prior to adding the milk.
• Variation for a Spice Cake: Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice to the basic cake mix.
• Variation for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake: Melt 1/2 cup butter in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Add 2/3 cup brown sugar, stirring into the butter. Arrange pineapple slices in the pan. Top with the basic (yellow cake) mix recipe. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, cool 5 minutes, and invert to serve.

BASIC CAKE MIX BATTER

Steps:

• Beat butter, sugar, baking powder, and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer on high 3 minutes or until fluffy.
• Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each. On low speed, beat in flour in 3 additions alternately with milk in 2 additions, just until blended, scraping sides of bowl as needed.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

CAKE BATTER SNACK MIX RECIPE BY TASTY

Steps:

• In a medium bowl, mix coconut oil and white chocolate. Melt in microwave for 60 seconds. Stir every 15 seconds until melted.
• Place cereal in large bowl and add extract into melted chocolate.
• Mix in melted chocolate and sprinkles then stir until evenly coated.
• In a large plastic bag, add powdered sugar and the cereal mix.
• Close and shake until each cereal is coated with sugar.
• Enjoy!

BIRTHDAY CAKE CHEX™ SNACK MIX

Steps:

• Line cookie sheet with foil or waxed paper. In large bowl, place cereal and popcorn.
• In medium microwavable bowl, microwave frosting and white vanilla baking chips uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until chips can be stirred smooth. Pour over cereal mixture in bowl; toss to evenly coat.
• Spread mixture in single layer on cookie sheet. Immediately top with sprinkles. Let stand until set, about 1 hour. Gently break up mixture. Store in airtight container.

CAKE BATTER CHEX® MIX

Steps:

• Heat oven to 250°F. In large bowl, place cereal; set aside.
• In small microwavable bowl, microwave white chips and butter uncovered on High 30 seconds; stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second increments until chips and butter are softened and can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla.
• Drizzle mixture over cereal; toss until well coated. Sprinkle dry cake mix, powdered sugar and sprinkles over cereal; toss until well coated. Spread in single layer in 15x10-inch pan or large cookie sheet.
• Bake uncovered 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Cool about 15 minutes. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

CHEX FUNFETTI CAKE BATTER BUDDIES

Steps:

• 1. Melt almond bark (or white chocolate) and add shortening. I melt mine in a saucepan on low, I always ruin things in the microwave.
• 2. Pour the cereal into a large bowl and spoon in melted almond bark.
• 3. Add cake mix and powdered sugar, mix gently and enjoy!
