This is a sweet tasting salad that is perfect for spring and summer outings.

Ingredients

¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ teaspoon paprika
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon butter
½ cup slivered almonds
1 quart strawberries
2 romaine hearts, chopped into bite size pieces

Steps:

In a bowl, mix the vinegar, sugar, oil, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover, and refrigerate at least 6 hours.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the almonds, and cook until golden brown. Remove from heat, and cool.
In a bowl, toss the strawberries, romaine, and almonds. Mix with the dressing just before serving.

2 tablespoons sugar
1 lime wedge
Ice cubes
1/4 cup vodka (2 oz)
6 tablespoons strawberry puree
2 tablespoons simple syrup
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 strawberry, cut in half

Steps:

Sprinkle sugar on saucer or small plate. Rub rim of chilled martini glass with lime wedge to moisten; dip rim of glass in sugar.
In cocktail shaker with ice, shake vodka, strawberry puree, simple syrup and lime juice until blended. Pour into glass, straining out ice. Garnish with strawberry.

In a salad bowl, whisk together the lemon yogurt, honey, and lemon juice until smooth, and gently fold in the watermelon balls, cantaloupe balls, and strawberries. Toss to coat, and serve.

We had this as one of the samples while visiting Central Market here is Dallas. (I call that place the "Disneyland of Food." ) This recipe calls for a head of Cosmos lettuce, but I just use a l lb bag of baby spinach. It is pretty.....Next time, I plan to throw in some other berries and perhaps some mandarin oranges too. The combination of everything with the Feta and nuts is a great combination, IMHO, of course.

1 head cosmos lettuce, chopped
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/2 cup pecans, honey toasted
4 -6 sliced strawberries
choice of fruity vinaigrette dressing
salt and pepper

Steps:

Toss the lettuce, feta, pecans and strawberries together in a large bowl.
Add dressing to your taste
Add in other types of fruit to experiment.
Amounts can be adjusted to your preference.
