2 cartons (8 ounces each) sharp cheddar cheese spread
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients; beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Serve with crackers.

Attention, cheese lovers! This may be the best cheese spread you've ever had! My friend's mother gave me this recipe over 15 years ago. I always make it around the holidays, or for football and hockey game nights. Everyone begs for this recipe. Turn this into a pub spread by adding a half cup of your favorite dark ale. Use brick cream cheese for a spread, or spreadable cream cheese for a dip. Serve with crispy crackers, toast, or bagels.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) container cold pack aged sharp Cheddar cheese (such as MacLaren's Imperial Sharp Cold Pack Cheddar Cheese product)
¼ cup finely chopped red onion
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 dash hot sauce, or to taste

Steps:

  • Place cream cheese and cold pack Cheddar cheese in a microwave-safe bowl; slice cheese into chunks with a knife. Microwave cheese in 30-second intervals on high just until softened, stirring between intervals.
  • Stir red onion, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, paprika, and hot sauce into cheese mixture with a fork until evenly combined; spoon into an airtight container and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Remove cheese spread from refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving.

I adopted this recipe, and after playing with the recipe, I have adapted it slightly (on July 7, 2005) to include a little less butter.

6 -8 tablespoons butter
8 ounces cheddar cheese, Sharp, Grated
4 ounces romano cheese, Grated
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • All the ingredients should be at room temperature before starting this recipe.
  • Whip slowly, in a medium mixing bowl, with the mixer until the mixture is fluffy. I also have mixed it well by hand, but room-temp ingredients are KEY to do that.
  • Spread on bread slices. (Rye, Sourdough or regular French Bread are great.) Toast under the broiler until hot.

Steps:

  • 1. Place all ingredients in food processor; cover. Process until smooth. Spoon into serving bowl. Cover.
  • 2. Refrigerate at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend. Let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Serve with assorted cut-up vegetables, crackers or French bread slices.

8 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup shredded Cheddar
1/2 cup IPA craft beer
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons lime juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Pinch cayenne pepper
4 jalapenos, ribs and seeds removed and finely chopped
Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
2 cloves garlic, minced
Kosher salt
Crackers, for serving

Steps:

  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet set over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate. Allow to cool slightly, then crumble and divide in half.
  • While the bacon is cooking, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and toast until fragrant, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the Cheddar, beer, parsley, lime juice, Worcestershire, cumin, cayenne, half of the jalapenos, the cream cheese, garlic cloves and half of the crumbled bacon until well combined. Season with salt.
  • On a large plate, stir the toasted pecans, remaining jalapenos and bacon together until evenly distributed. Wet hands slightly to prevent the cheese from sticking. Shape the cream cheese mixture into a ball.
  • Roll the ball in the pecan mixture until coated on all sides. Cover the ball and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

1/2 cup thinly sliced scallion
1/2 cup bottled mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
Saltine crackers as an accompaniment

Steps:

  • In a bowl toss together the Cheddars, the bell pepper, and the scallion, add the mayonnaise, the mustard, and black pepper to taste, and combine the mixture well. The spread keeps, covered and chilled, for 1 week. Serve the spread with crackers.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Miracle Whip
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 bunch scallion, diced
1 (12 ounce) package bacon, cooked crispy
1 (1 lb) box Ritz cracker (4 sleeves of crackers)

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, miracle whip, shredded cheese and scallion.
  • Add half the amount of bacon (crumbled).
  • Spoon into a glass pie dish.
  • Crumble the remaining bacon and one sleeve of ritz crackers.
  • Sprinkle on top of cheese mixture.
  • Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.
  • Serve warm with the remaining ritz crackers.
