1/4 cup A.1. Original Sauce, divided
4 KRAFT DELI DELUXE Process American Cheese Slices
4 kaiser rolls, split, toasted
4 leaf lettuce leaves
8 thin tomato slices

Steps:

  • Heat grill to medium-high heat.
  • Mix meat with 2 Tbsp. A.1. just until blended; shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
  • Grill 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160°F). Top with cheese; grill 1 min. or until melted.
  • Cover bottom halves of rolls with lettuce and tomatoes; top with cheeseburgers and remaining A.1. Cover with tops of rolls.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef chuck
Four 1/2-inch cubes pepper jack cheese (about 1 ounce total)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 slices Cheddar cheese (about 2 ounces)
4 hamburger buns
Ketchup, mustard and/or mayonnaise, for spreading (optional)
Lettuce leaves, sliced tomato and/or sliced red onion, for topping
Pickles, for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Divide the beef into 4 equal portions. Press a cube of pepper jack into the center of each and shape the meat around the cheese; form into patties, about 4 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick. Season the patties with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on the bottom, about 4 minutes. Flip the patties and top each with a slice of Cheddar; cook 4 to 5 more minutes.
  • Meanwhile, toast the hamburger buns and spread with ketchup, mustard and/or mayonnaise. Fill with the burgers and top with lettuce, tomato and/or red onion. Serve with pickles.

2 pounds ground sirloin
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
A few dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
8 fresh jalapenos
4 burger buns or kaiser rolls
For serving: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce leaves. tomato slices and onion rings

Steps:

  • Prepare a grill for medium-high heat. Brush the grill with olive oil.
  • Put the sirloin, Cheddar, salt, pepper and hot sauce in a bowl and mix. Form into four 8-ounce patties. Grill the patties for 3 to 4 minutes, then flip and grill until cooked to desired doneness, another 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Meantime, grill the whole jalapenos for a few minutes until blackened. Grill the burger buns until lightly toasted.
  • Transfer the burgers to the buns. Serve with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, onion rings and the grilled jalapenos on the side for everyone to assemble their own burgers.

1kg minced beef
300g breadcrumbs
140g extra-mature or mature cheddar , grated
4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 small bunch parsley , finely chopped
2 eggs , beaten
split burger buns
sliced tomatoes
red onion slices
lettuce , tomato sauce, coleslaw, wedges or fries

Steps:

  • Crumble the mince in a large bowl, then tip in the breadcrumbs, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, parsley and eggs with 1 tsp ground pepper and 1-2 tsp salt. Mix with your hands to combine everything thoroughly.
  • Shape the mix into 12 burgers. Chill until ready to cook for up to 24 hrs. Or freeze for up to 3 months. Just stack between squares of baking parchment to stop the burgers sticking together, then wrap well. Defrost overnight in the fridge before cooking.
  • To cook the burgers, heat grill to high. Grill burgers for 6-8 mins on each side until cooked through. Meanwhile, warm as many buns as you need in a foil-covered tray below the grilling burgers. Let everyone assemble their own, served with their favourite accompaniments.

1/2-1 medium onion, sliced
1/2-1 red pepper, sliced
1/2-1 green pepper, sliced
6 slices provolone cheese
6 hamburger buns
1 teaspoon garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Turn grill or stove onto medium-high.
  • Take ground hamburger and make into 6 patties.
  • Mix all seasonings and season patties equally.
  • Put patties on grill or stove. When about 70-80% toward your wanted doneness, add provolone and vegetables. Cook the rest of the way.

2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons garlic powder, divided
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
1/2 cup butter, softened
6 slices provolone cheese
6 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 jar (14 ounces) spaghetti sauce, warmed

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine beef and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Shape into six thin patties. Pan-fry until no longer pink. Meanwhile, cut bread in half lengthwise. Combine butter and remaining garlic powder; spread over cut sides of bread. On the bottom half, layer provolone cheese, beef patties and the mozzarella cheese. Replace bread top. Wrap in a large piece of heavy-duty foil (about 28 in. x 18 in.). Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and sandwich is heated through. Cut loaf between each patty. Serve with spaghetti sauce for dipping.

They are so tender and juicy and the bacon fat adds just a hint of smoky flavor. I don't think you'll be sorry!

8 slices bacon
1 -2 slice white bread, crusts removed, cut into 1 inch pieces. (about 1 cup)
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 lbs of 85- 90% lean ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 large garlic cloves, very finely minced
vegetable oil, for grill rack

Steps:

  • Fry bacon in skillet. Place 3 tablespoons of bacon fat into heatproof bowl and set in refrigerator while preparing other ingredients.
  • Put bread in bowl, add milk, and let mixture sit about 5 minutes. Using a fork, mash bread and milk till smooth paste forms.
  • Break up beef into small bits into a medium size bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then add garlic, bread paste, and reserved chilled bacon fat. Lightly knead all ingredients to mix and incorporate. Divide into 4 patties.
  • Oil cooking grate and grill burgers over a very hot fire, without squeezing down on them, until well seared on both sides (7-10 mins depending on preference for doneness). Top burgers with bacon previously cooked. Serve on buns.
