CHILI PORK STEAK



Chili Pork Steak image

A scrumptious way to cook and tenderize steaks at the same time. I use whatever steaks or chops I have on hand -- beef, pork, venison, you name it. Particularly good with a cheesey, sour cream and rice casserole like recipe #184275.

4 pork shoulder steaks
2 tablespoons margarine (butter browns too fast)
1 (10 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Brown steaks in margarine in frying pan.
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix a little.
  • Cover and simmer slowly until tender, about 45 minutes, stirring and turning meat occasionally.

This is one of the easiest ways to cook pork shoulder steaks. Just simmer all the ingredients on the stove and you'll end up with a tender and flavorful dinner!

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tablespoons butter
4 pork shoulder steaks
1 can (10 ounce size) cream of tomato soup
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and swirl the pan until the butter melts. Add the pork shoulder steaks to the skillet and brown on both sides. Remove the pork and set aside. Add the tomato soup, chili powder, dried oregano, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet and stir to combine. Add the pork back to the skillet and turn to coat evenly in the sauce. Reduce the heat to a low simmer. Cover and cook for 45 minutes or until the pork is tender. Serve immediately.

This is a basic recipe that my SIL gave me. It is good and you may want to add things to your taste.

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 lbs pork steak, cut into bite sizes (NOT PORK CHOPS!!!)
1 (32 ounce) can stewed tomatoes with herbs
3 garlic cloves
1 small onion
1/8 cup dried onion
1 (1 lb) bag tortilla
16 ounces cheese, bag finely shredded
8 ounces sour cream

Steps:

  • Cook Pork Steak in Pan.
  • Put tomatoes, garlic and onion in food processor and blend.
  • When cooked place blended mixture in and simmer.
  • When done place on tortillas, put on toppings and eat.
  • ALTERNATE COOKING----.
  • Blend your mixture as above then throw everything in a crock pot and let it cook on Low 8 hours on High for 4 hours. (These are approximate times).
  • The difference is in a pan you will have cubed meat, in a crock pot you will have shredded meat. Many people will only eat one or the other. PERIOD!

My mom used to make this and it is my favorite meal. The pork butts come out so tender and juicy. 'Butts' are a favorite in my family. Serve with baked or mashed potatoes and a veggie. If you like a lot of sauce then double the recipe, the sauce is fantastic.

2 pork shoulder (Boston butt) steaks
1 large onion, sliced
2 cups ketchup
2 cups water
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Season the pork steaks on both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place in the skillet and cook until browned on each side, about 4 minutes per side.
  • Place sliced onions on top of the steaks in the pan. Stir together the ketchup and water in a medium bowl; pour over the steaks. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and cook for about 2 hours. The longer you cook, the better the meat tastes.

2 pounds boneless pork, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
2 cups frozen corn
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups beef broth
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chiles
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
Shredded cheddar cheese, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook pork in oil over medium-high heat until browned, 5-6 minutes. Transfer pork and drippings to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the tomatoes, corn, beans, onion, broth, chiles, chili powder, garlic, salt, cayenne and pepper. , Cover and cook on low until pork is tender, 6-7 hours. Stir in cilantro. Serve with cheese if desired.

1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
