Chunky Hummus Dip- take your typical hummus recipe to a whole new level! Quick, easy, tasty hummus that magically comes together in a matter of minutes.

1 1/2 cups homemade hummus or 8 ounce container store-bought hummus
2 tablespoons red onion (minced)
1/4 cup cucumber (finely diced)
1/4 cup tomato (seeded, finely diced)
1/4 cup sliced black olives
3 tablespoons crumbled feta

Steps:

  • Spread hummus over a medium to large serving tray or plate.
  • Top with all other ingredients listed above, as preferred. Feel free to use your favorite ingredients and leave off others you're not particularly fond of or don't have on-hand.
  • Serve Chunky Hummus Dip with raw veggies and Dare Crackers.

1 container (7 oz.) ATHENOS Original Hummus
1/2 cup chopped seeded cucumbers
1/4 cup finely chopped red onions
1 plum tomato, chopped
1/4 cup ATHENOS Traditional Crumbled Feta Cheese
3 whole wheat pita breads (7 inch), torn into 8 pieces each

Steps:

  • Spread hummus onto plate.
  • Top with layers of all remaining ingredients except bread.
  • Serve with bread.

2 cups canned chick-peas, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons raw organic tahini
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Place the chickpeas in a medium-sized bowl and squeeze by hand until they reach a thick, pasty consistency.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and mash with a fork until blended well. The mixture should be chunky but moist, not crumbly.
  • Serve with flatbread or crackers.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 (15-ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil, or more as needed, plus more for garnish
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons roughly chopped fresh parsley leaves, plus more for garnish
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dark Asian sesame oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin
12 to 15 grinds black pepper
1/4 cup water
Paprika, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a blender combine all the ingredients except the parsley and paprika to be used for garnish. Blend on low speed until smooth. You'll have to stop the blender often to push down the ingredients. If the mixture is too dry and you're having trouble blending it, add a few more tablespoons of olive oil to help things along.
  • Scrape the hummus onto a plate. Sprinkle the paprika over the top, drizzle lightly with olive oil, scatter some parsley on top, and serve. You can make the hummus up to a couple of hours before you serve it. Cover the top with plastic wrap and leave it at room temperature.
