2 cups all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage
½ cup buttermilk
½ cup butter
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
6 tablespoons cola-flavored carbonated beverage
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

Combine flour and white sugar in mixing bowl. Heat 1 cup butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, and 1 cup cola soft drink to boiling and pour over the flour and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla, and marshmallows and mix well.
Bake in a prepared 9 by 13 inch pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
While still hot, frost with Coco Cola Frosting: Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons cocoa and 6 tablespoons cola soft drink and heat to boiling. Pour over 4 cups confectioners' sugar and mix well. Mix in chopped nuts and spread over hot cake.

This is one of the many recipes from my Grandmother's cookbook. She passed away in May of 2005. I am recording her wonderful recipes for my family and the many generations that will follow. I hope you enjoy her recipes as much as we do. I have not made each one yet so cooking time and servings may not be posted on some. Blessings from FOURMRANCHWIFE in Texas.

Ingredients

20 ounces pineapple chunks in juice, juice reserved
20 ounces bing cherries in juice, juice reserved
2 (8 ounce) packages cherry Jell-O
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 1/2 cups cola

Steps:

Drain pineapple and cherries; reserve juice.
Heat 1-1/2 cups of reserved juice; most of the 1-1/2 cups should be pineapple juice and just a little cherry juice.
Dissolve Jell-O in heated juice; add softened cream cheese; whip.
Add pineapple, cherries, and pecans.
Stir in Cola.
Chill until firm.
The ounce sizes are guesses; it is the big can of cherry and pineapple; the Jell-O is the small box. When I make it I will look at sizes and edit.

2 (3 ounce) boxes cherry Jell-O
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple (Drain; set juice aside)
1 (8 ounce) can mandarin oranges (Drain; set juice aside)
1 (28 ounce) can dark pitted cherries (Drain; set juice aside)
12 ounces Coke
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

Use Juices from fruit instead of water to make jello-- once it's hot, add Coke.
Put in Mixing bowl and add cream cheese, fruit, and nuts.
Pour into mold and allow it to set.

1 cup plus 1/2 cup butter or margarine
3 tablespoons plus 3 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup plus 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
3 cups powdered sugar

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour and sugar in large bowl. In small saucepan, heat 1 cup butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1 cup Coca-Cola. Bring to simmer and then pour over flour mixture. Stir well. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix. Add marshmallows. Pour into 9x13 pan for 35 minutes.
To make the frosting, in a saucepan combine 1/2 cup butter, 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola, and 3 tablespoons cocoa. Bring to a boil. Pour over bowl with powdered sugar. Beat well. Spread evenly over warm cake. Let cool. Serve.

This tempting gelatin salad has a big cherry flavor and a fun zing from the cola. My two small children are always happy to see this salad on the table. We think it tastes great with or without the whipped topping.

1 package (6 ounces) cherry gelatin
1-1/2 cups boiling water
1-1/2 cups carbonated cola beverage
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Steps:

Dissolve gelatin in water. Add cola and pie filling; mix well. Pour into an 8-in. square baking dish. Refrigerate until firm. Garnish with whipped topping if desired.

1 (10-ounce) bottle maraschino cherry, drained, reserve juice
2 (3-ounce) packages cherry jello
1 (12-ounce) can Coca Cola , cold
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

Heat reserved fruit juices to dissolve Jell-O. Let the mixture cool, and add cold Coca Cola. Put mixture into refrigerator until it begins to thicken. Then fold in chopped cream cheese, chopped nuts, and cold fruit. Pour in molds which have been rinsed in cold water, and place in the refrigerator to congeal. Unmold on lettuce leaves, dipping molds in heated water (not boiling) as nearly the depth of the mold as possible. Loosen carefully around the top with tip of small knife. Center the serving dish on top of mold, holding the dish and mold firmly together, and turn upside down. Garnish with a bit of mayonnaise or salad dressing. Variation: Strawberries may be substituted for cherries. Fun Fact: The Biedenharn Candy Company Museum in Vicksburg, Mississippi, commemorates the site where the soft drink, Coca-Cola, was first bottled in 1894.
