Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 325. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean-up and place an ovenproof baking/cooling rack over top; spray rack generously with nonstick cooking spray.
- Whisk the egg and cream together in a medium bowl. Stir in the bread and mash until no large bread chunks remain. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the pork, garlic, allspice, pepper, salt, and baking powder on high speed until smooth and pale, about 2 minutes, scraping bowl as necessary. Add the bread mixture to the mixing bowl and beat on high speed until smooth and homogeneous, about 1 minute, scraping the bowl as necessary. Add the beef and mix on medium-low speed until just incorporated, about 20 seconds, scraping the bowl as necessary.
- Using moistened hands (it's sticky and wet hands help; keep wetting them as you go), form the meat mixture into tablespoon-size round meatballs and place on the prepared rack. Bake for about 20 minutes, until just done.
- Meanwhile, in a large sauté pan, mix together all of the ingredients for the sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook gently until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Transfer them to a serving platter, spear with toothpicks and spoon the sauce over top. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.
- Freezer-Friendly Instructions: The meatballs and sauce can be frozen in separate containers for up to 3 months. When ready to serve, reheat the meatballs in their sauce on the stovetop over medium heat until hot in the center.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a baking sheet with some oil or cover it with parchment paper.
- Combine the ground beef, ground pork, egg, minced onion, pressed garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper in large mixing bowl. Squeeze milk out of the slice of bread, break it up, and add crumbled bread to the bowl. (Discard squeezed milk.)
- Mix everything very well.
- Grease your hands with some cooking spray. To get even meatballs, use a cookie scoop. I use #40 scoop but you can use a slightly larger one. Try to keep the meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. (You can make meatballs a little bigger or smaller according to your own preference. Just remember to adjust cooking time if making bigger or smaller meatballs.)
- Quickly roll all the meatballs and add them to the baking sheet, close together but not touching.
- Bake the meatballs for 20-22 minutes, depending on the size.
- Whisk all the ingredients for the sauce together and preheat a 12-inch skillet over medium heat.
- Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer for about 6-8 minutes. Make sure to slowly stir every couple of minutes while it's simmering.
- Add meatballs (just meatballs, but the juices left from baking meatballs) to the sauce. Carefully stir meatballs and sauce until coated and let them cook for just a few minutes.
- Transfer the meatballs and the sauce onto a serving bowl and serve.
- You can also serve these meatballs in a crock pot to keep them warm for the party.
- Prepare the meatballs and the sauce per instructions above but combine them together in a crock pot instead of the skillet.
- Set the Crock pot to "warm" setting, cover, and let them stay in there for the party. You will want to stir them from time to time.

PARTY MEATBALLS
You know that these will be a hit at your party, because they have the word "party" in the name. Millions of people in the 70s knew it wasn't a good time unless a chafing dish full of these meatballs was making an appearance. How many other dishes do you know that guarantee a good time?

Steps:
- For the meatballs: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil, then place a wire rack over it.
- Grate the onion into a large bowl using a box grater. Add the ground beef and pork, tomato soup, panko, mustard powder, pepper, salt and minced garlic and knead together with your hands until thoroughly mixed. Use a tablespoon to help you make small meatballs, placing them close together but not touching on the prepared sheet pan. Bake until well browned, 15 to 20 minutes.
- For the sauce: Melt the butter a large saute pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the flour until no raw bits are visible, then continue cooking for another minute. Whisk in the beef stock 1/2 cup at a time, allowing it to thicken between each addition, then whisk in the grape jelly until smooth. Cook until the sauce begins to bubble, then add the graham cracker crumbs, ketchup and vinegar. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add the meatballs to the saute pan and gently toss to coat. Cook for another 3 minutes, then transfer to a chafing dish. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve warm.

COCKTAIL MEATBALLS
This is the best cocktail meatball I've ever had. We didn't have chili sauce, but I found Recipe #363254 and made it homemade. Really a surprising but wonderful concoction of ingredients--sweet and spicy. We used blackberry jelly instead of grape and baked the meatballs in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes or so instead of cooking in shortening. We also put it all in the crockpot and watched them disappear. Recipe courtesy of Golden Heritage Cookbook fiftieth Anniversary/The Officers' Wives' Club of Fort Benning, Georgia (Mrs. Edward G. Bradshaw (Mackie).
