Steps:
- Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper.
- Heat the oil in a heavy skillet large enough to hold the chops in one layer. Add the chops and cook until nicely browned on one side, about five or six minutes. Turn the chops and brown on the second side about five minutes. Pour off all the fat from the skillet.
- Return the skillet to the heat and scatter the onions and garlic around the chops. Cook briefly, stirring. Add the water and sprinkle the chops with cumin, paprika, turmeric and bay leaf. Cover closely and cook about 30 minutes over low heat. Serve the chops with the sauce poured over.

- Mix flour, salt ,garlic salt, garlic powder, and oregano together in a medium bowl. Add pork chops, and toss until well coated.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place pork in skillet in a single layer, and cook, turning occasionally, until brown on both sides. Add mushrooms and minced garlic; cook and stir briefly.
- Stir in wine, scraping the skillet to loosen any brown bits. Cover and simmer over medium heat until pork is tender and sauce is thickened, about 15 minutes. If sauce is too thick, adjust by stirring in a small amount of wine.

- In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first 10 ingredients. Add pork chops, a few at a time; seal bag and toss to coat. , In a large skillet, brown chops in oil on both sides. Place in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. - Melt 1 tablespoon butter with 1 tablespoon oil in each of 2 heavy large skillets over medium heat. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper. Add 3 chops to each skillet and sauté until lightly browned, about 3 minutes per side. Cover skillets and cook until thermometer inserted into center of chops registers 145°F, about 9 minutes. Transfer chops to warm platter; tent with foil to keep warm.

- Sprinkle the pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper and paprika. Heat the oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the pork chops. Cook until nicely browned on one side, about 10 minutes. Turn and saute until just cooked through, about 10 minutes. Pour the fat from the skillet. Sprinkle the onion between the pork chops and cook briefly. Transfer the pork chops to a platter; keep warm.

- In large skillet, heat oil on high heat. Add chops and brown one one side (about 3-4 minutes), then turn. Remove to plate.
- To skillet, add onion, garlic and spices and sauté, stirring occasionally until softened. Add tomatoes with liquid and corn kernels, stirring occasionally.
- Add chops back to skillet. Bring all to boil, then reduce heat, cover partially, and simmer 30-40 minutes or until chops are done. Taste to correct seasoning and add pepper and cilantro, if desired.
- Serve with rice (spoon tomato and corn sauce over the top) and sprinkle with grated Monterey Jack cheese if desired.
