TERIYAKI SALMON WITH SRIRACHA CREAM SAUCE



Teriyaki Salmon with Sriracha Cream Sauce image

An easy dish with homemade teriyaki sauce and a sweet and spicy Sriracha cream sauce!

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons honey
4 5-ounce salmon fillets
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2-3 tablespoons Sriracha*
1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • To make the Sriracha cream sauce, whisk together mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons Sriracha and condensed milk in a small bowl; set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 1/4 cup water; set aside.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic powder, honey and 1 cup water; bring to a simmer. Stir in cornstarch mixture until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 2 minutes; let cool to room temperature.
  • In a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl, combine teriyaki marinade and salmon filets; marinate for at least 30 minutes to overnight, turning the bag occasionally.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly coat an 8×8 baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Place salmon filets along with the marinade into the prepared baking dish and bake until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 20 minutes.
  • Serve salmon immediately with Sriracha cream sauce.

This is a sweet and slightly spicy sauce you might want to drizzle on just about everything from tacos to avocado toast. Beware of it's addiction though. It's also a great dip. Try sweet sriracha sauce with chicken tenders, nuggets and sweet potato fries! (The Thickness of the sauce will vary depending on the thickness of your mayo)

  • Whisk all ingredients together until smooth and thoroughly mixed. Enjoy immediately or let sit in fridge for a couple hours to let flavors meld together.

½ cup honey
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons sriracha (or more to taste)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger
2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
8 chicken drumsticks (skin-on or skinless)
Green onions, sesame seeds, and lime wedges (for serving)

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small bowl mix, the honey, ketchup, sriracha, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.
  • Place the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over the top and mix it around so that the chicken is coated in the sauce. Bake the chicken, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  • Baste the chicken with some of the sauce in the pan then return it to the oven for 15 minutes, basting it two more times so the glaze coats the chicken well. Serve the chicken with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, lime wedges, and all the sticky sauce from the pan.
